I have super thick hair and have had the same expensive straightener for years. I ordered this as a back up due to the price point. It was worth every penny. I now use this over my expensive straightener. I love how there is an on off button and then a temperature dial. The temperature stays put and is not easily changed by bumping a button. The plates are super smooth and the grip is easy on the hand. You do not need to squeeze incredibly hard to get the hair straight. It does not caught static or frizz. Matte, but smooth, comfortable finish to the straightening tool. Turning it on was relatively simple and using it was a breeze. The only thing I didn't like was that maybe this tool's finish could come in a different material, because I find that it would get scratched or marked easily. The irons were really good and made it through the 1-pass test for me personally, but I can see why it wouldn't work for certain others. I have longer, straight hair that is on the thinner side and I bought it to straighten and manually curl (although regretting that decision a teeny bit). If you are looking for a good straightener for a decent price and functionality though, this is a good option to try out. My previous expensive flat iron stopped working so I read all the reviews on Amazon and selected the L’Ange Hair Flat Iron . I have had it one month and it works great! I have thick, wavy hair and it straightens it quickly and well. It heats up to 450 very fast, is easy to handle and flattens or curls my hair perfectly. Ok, I’m being real here. For me personally, there’s NO flat iron that is “one pass” for my hair type. This one is no exception. However, that said I really do love this flat iron because it’s very comfortable to hold and gets my hair straight. The texture of the iron is kind of a soft silicone feeling, which allows for a nice grip, as well as to not get too hot while holding. I was excited about this since it's pretty affordable. My last L'ange tool (Le Duo) started falling apart with the plastic handle pieces constantly falling out so I knew it was time for a new tool. Getting this, it looked amazing in the package! The first couple of uses seemed fine, pressed the button with the red light and it appeared to hold a solid red light when it reached the desired temperature. Now when I use it, I press the button with the red light, it blinks a few times, gets hot and then the light turns off. It doesn't seem to be reaching the temperature I selected, and I'm not sure why it won't stay on. I wish I could use this, but its inconsistency makes it frustrating. I've resorted to using my old broken Le Duo to ensure my hair looks decent before rushing out the door. ... show more
