I brought this with me on a weekend trip, and I stuffed it completely full and ended up making it pretty heavy. But this backpack toughed it out and met or exceeded my expectations in every aspect! The laptop pocket doesn't have any sort of strap to hold the laptop in place, however the fit of the pocket was reasonably snug, and it's also well padded, so even without a strap, my laptop felt completely secure. I like that the backpack doesn't have an excessive number of compartments. Oftentimes backpacks will put too much focus on having different compartments for organization, but dividing the space too much takes away from the overall capacity and makes it difficult to fit larger items. That's not a problem at all with this backpack. It has one large compartment (which also contains the laptop pocket against the back, and a couple pen holders and small item pockets inside the front face), and a small compartment without any extra pockets or divisions, just nice roomy space. The pocket on the front face also has a covered zipper that makes it a little bit more difficult to get into, but would likely be a good deterrent against potential thieves. It's also comfortable to wear. The back has a chevron-like pattern that helps provide some air flow, and the straps are backed with a breathable mesh fabric, both the back and the straps are well padded. It's a great size for carry-on luggage when travelling. It fits easily underneath airline seats. Most importantly, it's very sturdy feeling, with a canvas-like outer shell, a smooth ripstop inner lining, and metal zippers. It's a well made backpack that immediately gives an impression of lasting quality. Overall, I give this 5 stars all around! The Good stuff: - Sturdy backpack. Thick fabric, doesn’t feel like it will rip easily. Holds its shape well and came out of the box not looking crumpled!! - Color is great. I got the “brown” color – it’s actually a burnt orange. But I love how it stands out. - Surprisingly roomy. I can cram a lot of stuff in here. I actually turned it into my diaper bag because I can fit so much. - Stays slim and comfortable. Even if you DO cram a ton of stuff in here, it stays relatively slim and the straps don’t dig it. Like…it doesn’t become a massive uncomfortable cube even if you shove a lot of stuff in it. - Lots of pockets, but not so many pockets that your stuff gets lost. The Issues: - slightly difficult to zip up. The fabric of the backpack is thick and folds over the zipper. it’s a 2-hand job to zip/unzip the backpack - cup holders are NOT elastic or stretchy at all. Doesn’t not fit anything larger than a standard 3” diameter water bottle (about the size of most 12oz tumblers) ... show more

We used this for my son's personal item to travel to Hawaii and it was the perfect size for a 10 year old. Not only was it sturdy and held everything he needed - electronics, tablet, extra clothes, snacks, etc. and there was even space left. It had been through a lot since it was placed under the seat on the plane and he not only use it for the plane, but he used it to take it to the beach and to our excursions. I like the simple design of it and it has enough pockets and room to fit everything. Since we're back from vacation, we've gone camping and went out of town and he's used it at that time as well to go hiking and to take it with him to keep all of his stuff in one place. This is a very nice and well made backpack for the current price of $23.99. I got the black one and to me it looks like a more expensive backpack. It is made with a high quality canvas that seems like it will be very tough and hold up well. All of the stitching is well done also and seem strong. All of the zippers are large with good handles that are easy to locate and grip. The large pocket has 2 zippers for easy access. The backpack has a flat bottom, so when empty it will stand up on it's own. It has many pockets for items, and the usb connection is a nice touch. It allows you to have a backup power source in your bag, and use your electronic device by just connecting to the bag. The only slight downside I see is that it could use a little more padding on the straps, and the part that touches your back. As some have mentioned, the side pockets where some backpacks are designed to hold a water bottle are a little on the small side. It does not have a zipper on it as some do. It will hold a plastic water bottle, but not something much larger. Still, for the price of this backpack, I think those are pretty small issues. ... show more

This backpack gets the job done, nothing special but has mostly what I need. Pros: Separate storage compartments in the front and the back is for laptops and fits my 13" hp laptop very well. The padding on the underside of the arm straps is also a nice addition and adds to the comfort of wearing the backpack. The zipper handles are very nice and easy to locate and don't feel cheap at all. The overall design and look of the backpack is nice and the size is fairly compact. Cons: This backpack fells like it's made with cheap, synthetic material that won't last very long. The size of the backpack is also very unforgiving and it has little room for additional space beyond the listed dimensions. The backing of the backpack does not have breathable fabric and makes for a sweaty, mess when it's hot outside and I have to walk any considerable distance. ... show more
