I have 2 raspberry pi 4’s that I wanted to share 1 monitor, keyboard and mouse. I spent a couple of frustrating hours trying to get it to work before setting it aside for later. The next day, I remembered using a kvm years ago and having a problem getting it to work that kvm to work. I also remembered how I got that to work. With everything properly connected, had both computers and the monitor off. The kvm was switched to pc1. I turned on the monitor and immediately booted pc1. The monitor showed the video and both keyboard and mouse worked. I switched to pc2 and immediately booted pc2. Again, the video and both peripherals worked. Now I can switched back and firth without losing connectivity. I imagine that if I ever have a power disruption that I’ll have to go through the same startup sequence. Seems silly. With a HDMI specific kvm, I would think the kvm would be enough emulate a signal with the monitor. Oh well, annoying but not a big deal. It works and that’s sufficient for me. ... show more

There was a shipping snafu on Amazon's end where they put another bagged product in a bag and forgot two other items including this one, so they had to send a replacement. So, gratification delayed by a day. But once I got the product, it was neatly boxed with all the cables required to hook up two computers (2 HDMI cables, 2 USB cables). It's a perfect solution for having to share my curved monitor, keyboard, and mouse between my personal laptop and my new work-issued laptop. Push one button and switch! Yay! ... show more

I bought two KVM's, so I will put the same exact review in both comments sections. First, I ordered the DGOGRT HDMI USB KVM Switch ($23.97). It came with two janky cables - HDMI on one end, and a "Y" of HDMI and USB on the other. Apparently, they used some unused pins on the HDMI plugs to pass the USB signals to the computers, in an effort to save 12 cents in production costs by eliminating two USB cables and two USB plugs on the box. I should have known better, but I said "what the heck". Well, not to my surprise, it passed HDMI video fine, but not USB. I boxed it up and filled out a return order. Next, I bought the ABLEWE Aluminum KVM Switch HDMI USB Switch ($45.99). Ahhh, USB works fine. But wait - blank screen with my Chromebook? I should tell you that the two computers I have are an older HP Chromebook and a brand new ECOHERO Windows 11 laptop. This switch just did not play nice with the Chromebook. After about two hours, I got it working for about a minute, but then I decided I needed to switch two HDMI cables (one was too short for where it was). After that I could not get it to work again. What to do? Hey, wait -ONE box switches video fine, and the OTHER switches USB fine. Yep, I did it. I hooked up both boxes, one for HDMI and one for USB. Abut $80 dollars later, I have to push TWO buttons now to switch between computers. Not the end of the world, but janky as hell. If anyone can recommend an HDMI USB KVM that actually recognizes the Chromebook spec, I'd love to hear about it. ... show more

UPDATE: The seller contacted us on 9/10 offering several troubleshooting solutions. We had already tried the offered solutions and others as well. Amazon offered a return with full refund on 9/7, so we took that option. I upgraded the rating based on the service provided by the company. I purchased 24 of these for a new computer lab at the school where I work. The project was delayed and the KVMs were not hooked up until this week. Not one single one would work properly! I could not get the primary monitor/computer to show. It kept saying no signal but I could hear it recognize the keyboard and mouse. When I switched to the secondary computer, no problem, the monitor, keyboard, and mouse worked fine. I had our IT department check them out and they too could not get the switch to work on the primary. Because of the delay in implementing the project I am now stuck with 24 KVMs that do not work. Got it to assist with migrating from old to new PC. When I first got it connected it seemed to work fine, but when I had to power off one of the PCs it wouldn't recognize it when it was repowered. Eventually got it working again but then same thing happened next time I needed to power cycle a PC. Ended up not using it, instead using two keyboards, 2 mice and an HDMI mux. I think I wasted more time trying to make it work than I would have spent w/out it. ... show more
