TLDR: If you have a dual DP monitor setup, for two separate computers, buy this IMMEDIATLEY! I have my work laptop set up with a docking station and my personal desktop setup at the same desk sharing resources (Keyboard, mouse, and monitors). I used to have to unplug all of my peripherals from the docking station and plug them into the back of my desktop IO anytime I wanted to use my personal computer. I hate the wear and tear on my IO doing that all the time and its an awful lot of tedium having to do that several times a week. I started researching and found that a KVM switch would allow me to connect both systems up to a single box and then have a simple switch to click to choose which computer you want to use. It took a little while to set up, and if you don't have good cable management or have a significant other who will complain about a rats' nest, I suggest you have a place to hide the box. I bought extra short DP cables and Velcroed every cable, so it's super clean. This product simplifies things so well. I couldn't be happier with my setup and ease of use each day. I want to play games in the evening and hit the switch to #2. I wake up and have to jump into work and hit the switch to #1. I have my docking station hooked into the switch because of the limited outputs on the laptop and have encountered no issues with peripherals not registering. You get it all in this package to put two systems together and my extra purchases for shorter cables and cable management or not necessities.

UPDATE: I wrote the review below and was contacted by the company's customer service via Amazon messages. We discussed the situation and they sent a replacement switch. Excellent customer service! Its working great, if it stops working in the future, I will update this review again. But I hope there will be no issues with this new one. This was a great product until a few days ago. I've used it daily for 7 months with no issues until the day before yesterday. Now an error continuously pops up saying the "USB device is not recognized" on the system that is not in use. WASTE OF MONEY

EDIT: Excellent customer service. The product did indeed arrive broken, but after I posted my review, the company contacted me quickly and sent a replacement. It may be a bit iffy to purchase based on some other reviews, but if you have an issue with it, it seems like these guys work quickly to help you out. I spent forever trying to get this to work, to the point that I exceeded the return time frame. I had 3 different friends with tech/IT background help as well, and by the third person, we realized one of the inputs just didn’t work. Fun to spend time and money on something that arrived broken

Update: Customer support was very responsive and definitely wanted to help They assured me the product could handle higher resolution than what I was seeing. I purchased two new high quality HDMI cables to see if that was the problem. I was able to get a higher resolution via a USB-C hub with HDMI, but sound did not come across and I could not get higher than 1920*1080 through the onboard HDMI on either computer. I'll amend my review to basically say that while the product may be capable of these higher resolutions, it was not plug and play in my case. Maybe I just got a bad switch, but didn't want to keep troubleshooting and ultimately returned it for a different product. Pros: System works okay to get things set up and running. I like the external wired switch. Cable quality seems good and device itself seems well constructed. Cons: Switch is only capable of "Up to 4Kx2K@60Hz, 1920*1080@60Hz" and does not pass sound through HDMI. The manual points out that HDMI is capable of 3840*2160@60Hz. Additionally (small pet peeve) the power adapter is not power strip friendly, with the length of the adapter running parallel to the prongs instead of perpendicular. Sent an email to tech support and will update review if they can help.

I've used this adaptor for 2 setups and both worked flawlessly. One is powered via external power and one is powered by the tower. Both allowed me to get full 1440p resolution onto my monitors via DP when daisy chain wasn't an option, something HDMI won't do.
