I'm not a sponge user. Sponges seem to me to harbor germs. I use a lot of paper towels, and those green square scrubby things. But after my daughter chastised me for using too many paper towels, I decided to give sponges a try. I ordered these because they have a soft side, a scrubby side, and they can be washed. I am pleasantly surprised. I like the way they feel, and the way they soak up water and provide good alternatives for cleaning any surface. And perhaps most importantly they can be thrown in the dishwasher and reused. So my germophobia is circumvented (well, mostly).

As a pack of 6, these are reasonably priced at $12 (2 each). Even though they listed the size, I still thought that they would be a bit bigger than they were - they are about the same size as a normal small kitchen sponge. The rough side is a decent scrubber, but soft enough to feel like you can use it on a non-stick pan. The soft side is smooth and like a soft cloth. I like the combination. My worry is if these will "stink" and wonder if they can be cleaned / laundered easy.

I like both the wiping and the scrubbing sides: one super absorbent and the other good and scratchy, and I really like the loop for hanging it.

I have been using one of the six sponges for washing dishes for the past three weeks now. It does not show any sign of wear. I imagine these will last quite a long time due to the quality of materials. Additionally, the shape of the sponge makes it very comfortable to hold and it’s nice that one side is smooth and the other side is for scrubbing. When it comes to absorbent qualities it’s not quite as good as cellulose sponges, but still fine. The soap holding is pretty good as well.

Box of 6 scrubby sponges (soft on one side scour on the other). The scour side is not abrasive and seems to hold up pretty well in normal use. Box will last a while and give you options when you throw some in the washing machine for a refresh.
