Sigh. I really thought this was going to be the one. It's firm and thick enough. Measurements were right on and it fit in the carrier perfectly. My 1 year old GSD left it alone for a couple of weeks. Then I left her for 30 minutes one time and she chewed the zipper. She got at the foam and I had a mess when I got home. She didn't rip the fabric on the outside at all. I don't know that there's anything I can do for my land shark until she outgrows the chewing, so this is probably as good as any! ... show more

I can't speak to the durability or how easy it is to clean as I haven't had it long enough. However, I love the color and that it fits in his crate perfectly (48"). He's 8 1/2 years old so needs support for his big body (110 lbs)

It has a washable zippered cover that’s lined with vinyl to prevent moisture leaking through onto the pad which also has a zippered cover that can be washed if needed. I’ve washed it twice since purchased and there’s no shrinkage and still looks brand new.

I liked the zippered cover, but there are more dislikes than likes. The plush top does not feel durable. The plastic lining is cheap and noisy. The "high-density foam" is 2 1/2 inches thick, and is NOT high-density... it is not dense and heavy, like a true high-density foam. I have a double layer dog bed cover I slipped this dog bed into so it would last longer, & I recommend that. But my dog doesn't like the bed; it may be because she sinks right to the floor due to the cheap foam, and also the noisy plastic lining. I sat on the dog bed, and it was like sitting right on the floor. In the 2nd photo, I squeezed the foam between my fingers, using very little pressure, and it compacted down to less than a quarter inch. Another reviewer had a photo of a mesh lined foam, & mine doesn't have that, so maybe the manufacturer went to a cheaper foam. My dog weighs 48 pounds so this dog bed might be okay for a dog under 12 pounds, or for a cat. Also, I paid 40 bucks for this, and I feel it's not worth more than 12 bucks. Not as soft or plush as it looks or thought it would be. Maybe 2 to 3 inches thick and that's all. Didn't feel like returning it so we just kept it

We bought this based on materials and price for a specific use. We needed a pad for the dog trailer (Aosom pet trailer) we bought for bike rides. This is an exact fit for a wall to wall bed/pad for the trailer. It adds a more comfortable floor for our to dogs to lay/sit while we tow them with us down the trail. As for cleaning and comfort. Haven't needed to wash it yet. And the dogs ignored the bed when it sat in the living room for a week before it was installed in the trailer. So, my dogs don't care. the cushioning is good but I can hear the dogs shifting in their kennel at night because the waterproof layer is so loud. The cushion did not fit either of my kennels - was able to squish it in but not a great fit.

You maybe get an inch thickness in the padding. The pictures make it look like so much more. We will see how long they hold up.
