I spent hours looking for a sturdy tree stand last year that wasn't over 40 bucks or so. On principle it drove me nuts that something made of plastic or a few pieces of metal (that you use once a year) would be more than 20. This year, I was worried the dog would pull the tree down once i got it up in one of the "classic" branded plastic tree-holders. So i caved and got this. I didn't think it was possible to rave about a tree stand but here goes: just buy it. it's insanely easy. it's bizarre how big a difference the experience is. Sure, there's some nostalgia in lying on the floor screwing and unscrewing pins as someone yells, "To the left--no, too much!" That will be gone from your life. I lifted a fully decorated 8 foot tree and set it in this thing and clicked the pedal and it was done. That was it. The move should have ended with the tree on the floor, ornaments all broken, etc. Not sure why i even attempted it, but it was ridiculously easy. The tree trunk is crooked and it was cut on a bias--somehow the is perfectly straight. It's a Christmas miracle. ... show more

  • A Christmas miracle
Size: XX-Large
She’s a beaut, Clark! I want to meet Krinner and give him or her a hug. I love everything Christmas, but the things I love most of all are the Christmas trees. Growing up my mom had 5 trees. Much to my husband’s delight, I have inherited this tree obsession and have 7, and all but one are artificial. A few years ago we began the tradition of going out the Friday or Saturday after Thanksgiving to get our live tree. This involves standing up several, giving them a few good thumps to shake out the branches and dead needles, pulling on the branches to check for stability, some hemming and hawing, then finally going back to the first or second one you saw and declaring it The One. Then we strap it to the roof, drive it home, and begin the fight with the tree stand. We had one that was tried and true, but wrestling it into the stand and then twisting those god-awful bolts into the trunk until your hands cramped (and you had to do it all over bc it was still crooked) was awful. Then I stumbled upon the Tree Genie. I waited a whole year to buy this thing and now I’m telling everyone I know. We drilled a small hole in the middle of the trunk for that little spike (no idea if that’s even necessary), pumped the clamps, and boom. That tree isn’t going anywhere. Need to move it a little to the left? Release the clamps, re-pump the lever with your foot, and voila. And the water level indicator? Genius. For reference, this beauty is a 9 ft Fraser Fir. So buy the tree stand, you deserve it. ... show more

  • Cadillac of Tree Stands
Size: XX-Large
I will pile onto the positive reviews of this amazing tree stand. I purchased the XXL version. Typically we purchase a 8' to 9' tree. The amount of fussing with my older tree stand, on my hands and knees tightening the 4 bolts, my wife holding the tree straight, stand back, then major disappoint still crooked! Start over. This tree stand is amazing and yes, designed and made in Germany, so quality is incredible. The XXL is heavy, holds over 2 gallons of water and have a visible float so you can gauge how much water is remaining. Setting up your tree is a breeze, place in stand, hold straight, then tighten the clamps using the foot pedal. I truly like the 5 prong clamp, it really holds the tree very secure. This year, with this snazzy stand, done in less than 1 minute. Yes, it is more expensive than stands you may have used before, but the stress relief and ease of set up is well worth it. If you are considering, I would recommend the premium version, which has a bell, (only a few dollars more) which will sound when the tree clamps are secure, otherwise you can tell by feel while pressing the foot pedal, when correct tightness is reached. Strongly recommended as a hurry up and buy! ... show more

  • Searching for years!
Size: XX-Large
I have been searching for years for a heavy, stable and simple stand for our typical 7-9' tree. Many years ago we had a complex stand that involved rods, plates, wingnuts and chain, but was 100% reliable. When we moved, key parts got lost and then the search began. Plastic stands, stripped thumscrew guides, broken internal supports all created nightmare after nightmare, with trees falling over in the middle of the night and having to jamb many shims in to try and just keep the tree aligned. This stand is amazing. Took it out of the box. Put it on the floor. Brought the tree in and placed it in the opening, holding it straight. 4-5x stepping on the tightening lever and it was done! Solid as a rock and a huge water-holding capacity that I've only had to refill twice. Happy tree, happy new stand owner. Easy-Peazy!!! ... show more

  • My 8th year using it... love it to death
Size: XX-Large
This tree stand is incredible. It takes what was a LONG, COMPLICATED and INFURIATING process and makes it take about 30 seconds... that's not an exaggeration. This is my 8th year using this tree stand, and it's just as good as the day I bought it. It outlasted the marriage I bought it to try and save. Seriously. This is my first Christmas with my new wife, she had never seen this bad boy in action - she too is one of the plebs tightening metal bolts and putting books/magazines under the tree stand to level it out. She watched me single-handedly bring the tree in the house, put it in the stand, and crank the stand closed on the tree. Boom, level. No fuss, no drama. She was so impressed we had to postpone decorating the tree, if you know what I mean. The only frustrating thing is accessing the stand to water it. I have been using one of these for the past 4 years (https://www.amazon.com/Jack-Post-Christmas-Watering-Funnel/dp/B0091XG5ME/), but I paid $15 from a local tree lot at the time. I decided to treat myself and this year I'm adding a HoHoHoH2o to the mix (https://www.amazon.com/HoHoHoH2o-Automatic-Christmas-Watering-Refillable/dp/B07ZWF6NQ7). I'm HoHoHoping it's as awesome as my tree stand. ... show more
