The metal is not sturdy, I somehow expected a shiny, professional quality, very sharp and solid scissors that will last a lifetime. Well, they are not, but for the price this expectation is not realistic. This set is a DIY hair cutting set and it does the job. It cuts hair fine. It is sharp enough to make it easy. I used it once, I hope I will not need to use it again ever, but at that moment it was what I needed. The plastic of the combs is kind of soft, but the scissors were ok.

I bought these for my daughter who moved pretty away from home. Since I don't cut any of my grand kids hair any longer. The going trend these days nearby Portland, Vancouver, WA, most boys & men are keeping their hair longer. As a retired hairdresser, trends come and go. Long hair needs more attention or it will tangle like a rats nest! Hence, me buying & sending this beautiful hair cutting kit. Those thinning shears have come in handy already! My daughter loves them! She said they cut really nice and then compared the shears "To Mine!" Hmm... I don't believe so as I bought my main pair @ $285 in 1981! LOL Light weight and not bulky or heavy, this kit is STEAL @ $20! I recommend this really nice hair cutting kit.

I used them to thin a wig and they fell apart in my hand. I tried to put them back together but they aren't tight anymore and won't cut.

I have been home recovering from major surgery and desperately needed my pixie cut cleaned up and thinned out. I was impressed that Amazon delivered these the very same they were ordered. The scissors and thinning shears are sharp and will be easy to keep sharp at home. They cut great and are a fantastic set for home. This is a fantastic purchase and most definitely worth making.

This is a great little set of grooming tools for my dog. The regular scissors and the thinning shears are both nice and sharp and lightweight. Much nicer than the low price would lead you to believe. I haven't had these very long so I'm not sure how long the cutting edge will remain sharp but for now, I'm very happy with these. Even if the edges dull, it would still be cheaper to buy a second set than to have the scissors sharpened by a professional. If you groom your own dog, these are great to have!

These scissors are great. Most hair scissors are too tight around my fingers, but these don't hurt me. They are very sharp and cut hair perfectly. They even work effortlessly on thick, course hair, which is important to me. I have had problems with other scissors not being able to cut the hair as precisely as these do on thicker hair. The value is awesome. I hope that they stay as nice as they are with time and regular use. I highly recommend them.
