So far it's done what ive needed. Used it a few dozen times and hasn't damaged the pipe as long as you take it slow and rotate. Size is right to just throw in a work bag/box. The handle is nonslip and feels good in the hand. I recommend.

I had to swedge a 3/8 steel line and piece it together with another. I have never used this tool before and found it did a great job for me. And I highly recommend it for somebody trying to do the same procedure. I'm sure it is easy to use with soft copper tubing. In my situation, I was using a harder steel tubing, so I had to take my time bit by bit doing a little at a time to avoid cracking the steel tube. The tool is sturdy and works very well for the price

This is an inexpensive tool that requires time and patience. If you proceed slowly and rotate your stock, you can swage tubing almost as good (NOT as fast) as a hydraulic swaging tool. It takes patience and practice.

I seen a few complaints with users complaining about the flare being too big when complete for the brazing specs with 15% silver. I personally did not have any problems with what I had on hand for test swaging. With any new tool, practice makes perfect. I tried 7/8; 1/2; and I think 3/16. It took some work on the 7/8 but turned out perfect, much better that the swaging drill bit does on 7/8. The drill method on 7/8 imo deposits too much debris inside the tube. On the smallest size it will Crack if you dont go slow but will come out perfect after doing your test swaging. The tool feels built well. I would recommend this tool for light maintenance use, not a tool i'd trust to use everyday for heavy industrial.

Great swaging tool. Great quality, easy to use and don't have to keep up with multiple pieces. This takes care of all sizes I need in hvac and residential plumbing work. Definitely recommended to any Plumber or HVACR Tech to keep in the tool bag!

So I'll start by saying I'm an appliance refrigeration tech doesing sealed systems. Almost all appliances are 3/16, 1/4, or 5/16 copper lines. The 3/16s are mostly just valves or inserts for the 1/4 so you don't need to stretch them. 1/4 lines are so thin now days even a medium amount of pressure with this tool with split the line faster than you can blink, GO SLOW. also it only stretches about 1/4" deep into the line so getting a good fit can be tough. WORK CARFUL, GO SLOW, AND BE MATHODICAL or this tool isn't for you.
