I have been looking for a new pair of over the ear headphones for awhile now. These are excellent. They sound great and don't have any trouble connecting. The battery life is also excellent. I don't know exactly how many hours they last, but I would definitely say over ten and they charge relatively quickly too. The only issue with these headphones is that the ear clips they come with are a hard plastic and are quite uncomfortable. You can probably break them in but I just switched out the default ear clips for another set of Koss headphones I had (the Koss KSC75). Those feel way better and snapped right in.     • Love them, but I hope they make an improved model of these.
TL;DR Great sound quality, good fit and questionable Bluetooth experience. I quite enjoy these things. Over a year ago I got myself a pair of KSC75's to use at my computer, and immediately fell in love with them. They ended up being something I wore over 12 hours a day, the comfort and sound quality more than meeting my standards. Their design also facilitated me having conversations while listening to music, and overall being more aware of my surroundings than I typically can be when listening to music. Entering a new job, I wanted to be able to listen to music during down time while still being able to hear what people are saying to me, and while the KSC75's worked, the cord was troublesome enough that I decided to go wireless. The KSC35 Wireless does exactly what I need and nothing more. It's got good sound quality, nearly as good comfort, and I can hold conversations while listening to music, only losing what people say when they're facing away or speaking especially low. There are some key complaints I have though, that if they made a new product revision addressing these, I'd likely buy it in a heartbeat. This thing doesn't like pairing. I don't know if it's related to it being 4.2 when my devices support newer revisions, but pairing the device takes up to a minute at times with only one other person using an already paired Bluetooth device in the area. Once paired, it also sets the volume nearly to max, which I can't figure out how to make it not do. Some part of it seems to remember the volume it was set to previously, but after half a second it cranks the volume anyway. It also doesn't have fine volume control, only large increments. Not a terrible issue, it's something that can be worked around, but I'd rather not change my device's eq settings just to listen at a lower volume. I'd also like it if they took a little more inspiration from the KSC75's ear clips. Plenty of people like to just swap the clips that are on these with them, but it would be nice if they were just closer to that clip's fit by default. the clips on these are hard to put on with one hand due to how tight they are, and I always have to mess around with my ear lobe to get it to actually catch behind it. Though it doesn't bother me, it's also worth mentioning the charging port is micro usb. I don't think it matters much, as they provide a cord to charge the headphones with, but I can see the argument that going forward it would be more convenient for it to be usb c. Again, despite my complaints these things are great. If you like the KSC75's or any of its variations and want a wireless version, these are definitely worth trying. ... show more

    • Great Bang for the Buck Earphones
I've been using the wired version of the KSC35 since it was introduced in the mid-1990s. I'm happy to say that the wireless version sounds just as good and is still a great bang for the buck headphone. Fit and comfort is very personal. While some people find the KSC35 uncomfortable and prefer the fit of the similar KSC75, I think both the KSC35 and KSC75 are comfortable, but I think the KSC35 is better for vigorous sports. If you hate earphones with hooks, you won't like either model. Some people have trouble getting the KSC35 on and off, but it is simple and easy if you put the tip behind you ear and then turn the speaker so that the ear hook pulls the speaker to the ear. I can put the KSC35 on with one-hand in seconds. The KSC35 and KSC75 sound, not just great for the price, but great compared to earphones costing many times more. They are great all-rounder earphones for any music genre, but they may be slightly better suited for high energy music like Rock than for Jazz or Classical. However, while they have good bass with a slight bass forward sound signature, they won't satisfy bass-heads. I don't mind the behind the neck wire and consider this an advantage. I've lost to many ear buds to ever use them again and I hate sticking them in my ears. The KSC35 Wireless uses an older version of Bluetooth, but I've not had any issues with pairing, connectivity or sound quality. I don't watch videos, so I can't comment on latency, and I haven't used it on a phonecall yet to be able to judge the microphone. It also doesn't come with an app to tweak its sound signature... I consider this an advantage, and I haven't felt the need to equalize its sound. The controls are easy to use, once you get the hang of the short and long press buttons. I can't comment on battery life, as I haven't used it enough, but given the small battery size, I fully expect I'll be charging these at least once a week. The earphones come with a leatherette storage bag (good for protecting the wires, but nothing more), a very, very short micro USB charging cable (no, not USB-C) and well written set of paper instructions. As for durability, the design is more robust than you it might first appear, and I've had KSC35 wired headphones last years without issue. However, the wires are susceptible to damage if you yank on them. At one time Koss offered a lifetime warranty, but they now only offer a one-year limited warranty. This is still better than some companies, and my experience with Koss's customer support in the past has been very good. As you might tell, I'm a fan of the Koss KSC35 and also recommend the KSC75, PortaPro, SportaPro and KPH30i. They all use basically the same driver. ... show more

    • Good sound quality, too many quirks, too cheaply made
I have had and worn these for over a year now, and I'll explain why I'm only reviewing now, but first I'll go through the pros and cons: Pros: + Sounds great. Lacking a little sub bass but overall a good sound profile for listening to music or podcasts. + Lightweight. Good if you wear these for long periods of time. + Secure fit. + Good battery life. It lasts me a couple days of on and off listening. + "Hear-through design" or like I'd call it, open-back. This means you can hear your surroundings while using them. You might not want that, but I wear these while I ride a scooter to and from work, and they fit easily on my ears even when I wear a helmet. I can hear traffic all around me and it keeps me aware. Cons: - Sound fade-in. When you pause the headphones for a couple seconds, the audio fades in before reaching normal volume. I learned to live with it but it can be very annoying, especially when listening to podcasts. - Bulky controls. They're particularly heavy with such a thin wire and dangle down from your ear. Makes it annoying to use for things like jogging. - clips can be uncomfortable. Again, I got used to them but sometimes I took breaks. Finally, a word on build quality. When I first got these, I thought that they felt weirdly cheap for how good they sounded. The charging port cover (important for waterproofing) snapped off within the first week. Even the wire, which is very thin, seemed cheap; it's very easy for such a thin wire to go bad or wear out. Sure enough, this morning I went to use these and found out that the left ear was cutting out whenever I moved the wire. This effectively kills the headphones. For the price, a year or more of daily use isn't too bad, but I'm frustrated because I know it's going to happen again if I buy another pair. I would have rather spent double the price on a durable pair of clip-ons that sounds this good. ... show more

    • Great for every day use
Overall, I've been very happy with these, and am purchasing a new set of these same headphones after 14 months of heavy daily use. My first set is just starting to have trouble with losing sound in the right ear. Also, the little rubber piece that protects the charging port broke off months ago, and I only recently finally lost it. The battery still holds its charge well - I haven't noticed any reduction in charge time. I really love this over-ear clip design. I hate ear buds, and used the wired version of these same headphones for years until finding this wireless version. Not having noise cancellation is a plus for me, since I want to listen to music but still be able to hear when my kids need to get my attention. Also, this wire design works well - I wear it under the neck, and it's adjustable with a little sliding piece, though I never use that. Some similar over-ear headphones have a shorter wire that goes around the back of the neck, which is super inconvenient if you have long hair. The weak point of the KOSS headphones for me has always been eventually losing sound in one side. However, this happened much more quickly in the wired models (maybe 6 months vs. 14 months wireless). The wired ones can easily get caught on knobs and things when you walk around, causing tugs on the wire, which is probably what leads to the problem. Wireless obviously doesn't have this issue as much, since it only has the short wire between earpieces, though if you are someone to stash them in a pocket/purse when not using, it would be advisable to be very gentle when pulling them out again so as not to tug on the wire connections to the earpiece. I was not diligent in this, and so am not surprised that they eventually gave out. Your mileage may vary. Sound is really good in these, and I have had no trouble pairing these with my phone (Samsung S7). When battery is low, it starts to make a little chime every couple minutes during playback. The range is acceptable, but not great - it sometimes will start to cut out if my phone is on the other side of the house from where I am, but it's not a big deal.     • The stopped working within a few days, look and feel cheap.
I have been trying to find very specific earbuds that fit my needs, but after the only pair I could find that ticked all the boxes was bad, my husband found these, which were not exactly what i was looking for, but might be ok. Turns out they're not. The look and feel so cheap, the plastic is rough, and feels like it could snap any moment, and its really hard and cutting on your ears for the ear hooks. They feel like those headphones you would get on aeroplanes in the 90's. The control switch also feels like really cheap plastic, and the buttons are unpleasant to touch. Honestly I don't think they should cost more than $20, certainly not $50! The sound quality is about what I would expect from headphones, good, but not amazing. The USB charging area is really finicky to use especially as the cover doesn't come off enough to reveal the hole fully, the USB is one that has a right way up making it difficult to get in, and the charging cable is too short to actually use. Luckily I had a longer one of the same USB otherwise i would not have been able to charge them. The battery life is not 6+ hours, according to my phone they still had 40% battery when they died. I used the mic for a couple of phone calls after the initial charge and was heard perfectly fine, but after the second charge, the mic stopped working. My friend said it was like trying to hear me through a pillow, and then not at all. About 20 minutes later, the right headphone stopped working too, leaving only the left headphone still currently working. The buttons are hard to press, and not the clearest from touch alone which one you are on. The Bluetooth drops a lot, especially if you move your head down, or brush the control unit at all. The ear hooks are very painful, due the the hard, cheap plastic, and give me earache, as well as a very hard, large, painful spot on my left ear. They also don't feel very secure when they are worn. The soft ear pads feel fine against the ear, and i thought their design might stop me from getting the headaches I can get from the wrong headphones, but due to the sharp, pinching ear hooks this was not the case. I expect better from a brand name at this price. They are certainly not worth $50, even if they hadn't randomly stopped working after a couple of days of normal use. These headphones sound and feel great, but they are not durable. This is my second pair, and the same thing happened both times. They work great for a couple of months, and then they just stop charging. Plug them in, get the dreaded rapidly blinking red light. Then you know it's over. It's a shame, because I love the comfort and sound quality. Oh well, time to find another brand. ... show more

maybe docked half a star because the ear clips can be kind of annoying, but as other reviewers have said, i've changed them for the clips from some old KSSC75s i still had, and they're perfect now. the sound quality is great, the comfort with these new/old clips is great, and they must have updated the design and firmware slightly, because these new ones now remember my previous volume level, which was the most obnoxious thing about these previously. they used to reset the volume to like 80% whenever you connected them, regardless of what the volume was before, but now they just leave the volume alone. so much better. these also charge by USB C now, and no rubbery battery cover to come off in the first week. i am wondering if the right earphone will stop working in 18 months or so like my previous models, but i suppose time will tell. i've reinforced it with some electrical tape before i even turned it on, hopefully that'll shore up the joint a little. it comes with a carrying case and a (very short) USB C cable. ... show more
