- INSTALLATION: (1) Insert a KOORF hidden fastener clip into the grooved edges of decking over a joist. (2) Drive the screw ONLY halfway (Fully tighten later once all boards are in place). The wings must remain level with the joist for the next board to fit correctly. (3) Continue to add clips on each joist against deck boards.
- INSTALLATION: (4) Install "next" boards, make sure boards are pressed firmly against the clips and secured under the wings. (5) Do NOT over-tighten the screws. Please set proper driver torquing (2 to 6 drill power). The screw head will be resting on the top of the clip, but not sinking into the clip.

They state the are made for a certain size deck board. They fit no issue on boards that were roasting in sun. (First deck was an 8x16 no issues) next time same boards (in shade) 12x16 I had to persuade every clip in place with a scrap piece and hammer. (Just hammer liked to smoosh the edge to not fit in the next piece) Once I got a rhythm they did what they had too.

Unfortunately these fasteners didn’t work for the type of composite decking boards I am using. These fasteners are well made and would have been easy to work with if I would have had the proper deck boards. The company accepted my request to return them for a full refund.

I used these on replacement decking on top of the old joist. Screws could be longer and the screws must be started in the spacer which takes even more time. It would be much easier if they came assembled.

The screw length is short compared to other brands and decided to pass on this product. It may work for your needs but I didn't feel that it was suitable for my composite TimberTech Edge deck.

I really appreciate the hidden fastener look on my new deck. Plastic deck boards are difficult to screw down as they have to be predrilled with a hole for the screw, and then another bit has to be used to countersink the head. It seems that no matter what I did, the screw heads were hard to keep flush, and it would catch your eye. With these, no problems as the screw is hidden between the boards, out of sight. The only issue I had was that the screws were a bit soft, so you had to get your driver set right to put just the right amount of pressure on them. Once that was done, it was smooth sailing, and it went together quickly. I recommend them.

I was replacing a worn out redwood deck with composite decking (off the rack at a big box store). I had used hidden galvanized clips on the old redwood deck since I didn’t want any top drilled holes to be visible or to be a place where water would collect, and I got used to the sleek appearance of hidden fasteners. In making the change to composite boards I realized I couldn’t just reuse the old clips so I got these. These are much easier to use than the old clips since the old ones needed to be sequentially put in, basically interlocking each board with the one before it. These new clips are a million times easier to use and can be removed easily if you ever need to switch out a single board, without having to pull up every board laid down after it. The black color and small head screw enable you to clip each board with even spacing with a fastener that’s pretty much unnoticeable afterwards. This is definitely more expensive than top-screwing your boards, but the end result and ease of installation is definitely worth it!

The tabs that are supposed to universally fit in the groove of composite decking does not fit Trex brand products. Tabs are way too thick.
