This is a fantastic video camera and I think for the price it is a fantastic buy!!! I purchased this video recorder so that I could record some classes and use as study material when I needed it. It has worked exactly as I had hoped it would and because of this awesome little camera I have been able to achieve my goals and am excelling in my classes. It is also a super cool looking camera, very light weight and once I am done with my classes I will continue to use it for family videos and pictures that can be taken off the video camera as well. It was packaged perfectly and arrived sooner than I had expected. I am not tech savvy at all and initially I was concerned with learning how to use the video recorder as I was on a time crunch. I was extremely relieved to find that there were many helpful videos posted. The fact that I was able to go back and replay videos as much as I needed was extremely helpful for me. What I loved the most about my purchase however, was the customer service that I received from Alisa. I had a lot of questions being that I lack in the tech area and I was extremely pleased when Alisa reached out to me immediately and helped me with all the questions I had. I have worked in customer service for over 30 years and I was literally astounded with the customer service that I recieved from Alisa!!! No doubt!! I was also amazed by the fact that we are in two different countries with very different time zones. All the questions I had were answered so quickly that initially I thought Alisa was in the U.S., that is how quick she was to respond!! I recieved answers from Alisa quicker than I have received from some companies in the U.S. and for me personally, customer service is everything! You can have a great product but without the customer service to go with it, that product loses its value. Alisa is extremely knowledgeable, so quick to respond and with every question I had she provided me with a video to go with the question I had which for me was priceless!! Sometimes I felt a little embarrassed as I felt my questions were so basic but Alisa was so very patient with me and so very kind every time I asked for her help. And I will repeat being that I am not tech savvy I asked for a lot of help. Alisa never made me feel like I was a bother and I really appreciate that. The camera is defiinately a 5 star but if I could I would give Alisa 10 stars or more!! She is truly an asset to the company she works for and they are lucky to have her as an employee!!     • Great budget cam
I usually record my husband's band on a cell phone, and wanted something better. This camcorder was a good deal - bout $100 after discounts. I was most concerned about sound quality - I figured anything would be better than a cell phone (was using a Samsung Note 10 5g, so picture and sound weren't bad). Just recorded my first show with the camcorder, and was very impressed. The sound came out very well! We were in a fairly small venue, and the sound system wasn't pro or anything, so I was pretty happy that the sound wasn't muffled, garbled, or staticy. Picture turned out good as well- it was a venue, so it was dim, and there was some stage lighting, but everything came out very well. Would definitely recommend this cam for your amateur videography needs - for the price, it's a good product. ... show more

    • You get what you pay for. Bad Zoom, image quality, and inability to focus
Summary: Overall awful product. The camera itself had horrible image quality as well as horrible audio quality. The external microphone only introduced noise. The camera would not focus. Spend your money elsewhere unless this is a gift for you 6 year old child to play with. I feel like people reviewing this must get paid to do so. Otherwise I don't understand why you would give this product 5 stars. First things first, I shoot videos teaching people how to repair electronics. It is very important to have a decent zoom (nothing crazy, just a middle of the road zoom will do), and the ability to Focus on what I'm working on. This camera had the worst zoom I've ever encountered. Digital cameras from the early 2000's will put this Chinese camera to shame. Trust me on this one. If you're looking for a good zoom feature, this camera is NOT for you. This camera refused to focus on the details. I could not get it to focus on anything. Words appeared blurry and smeared. If I held something up to the camera lens like a tool, it would remain OUT of focus. I tried different lighting conditions, I tried moving the item at different distances within the field of view. Nothing worked. I also needed a camera that had a decent microphone. I wasn't looking to hear a pin drop, but I wanted noise in the background and foreground to be heard. Nothing special was needed, the quality of an old i-phone would have done the job. This camera had an extremely weak microphone. In order to be heard, I had to be physically breathing on the camera. And even then, their were amplitude spikes that would make the audio track go loud and quiet at random intervals. USING THE EXTERNAL MIC AT THE INCREASED DECIBLE SETTING MADE THE AUDIO EVEN WEAKER, but introduced some static noise in the background (kind of like TV white noise for those of us who remember it). The last thing that made me ultimately return this camera was the image quality. Even at 4k it appeared blurry and grainy. I have DV cameras from the early 2000s that did a better job. The size of the file seemed to correspond with increased resolution, but the image itself did not seem to improve whether I set the camera on 720p or 4k. Again, if you're looking for something to teach your toddler with, this may be the product for you. If you're looking to use this camera as an adult for home movies or ANYTHING else, by a name brand product or one with REAL REVIEWS. It's a shame most of the reviews on these cheap electronics are fake. You can tell by either the strange way that English is used (Ex. "The image is most beautiful!") , or if the review is trying to OVERSELL the product. Good luck deciphering ! ... show more
