Does it work? Yes. Would I buy it again? No. There are 2 features that absolutely every single toilet seat made for a home should have and in this order. 1st, soft-close, slow close. No slamming seat sounds are necessary, ever! 2nd, quick release mounts so that you can clean the nasty under the hinges. I like it. I'm keeping it. It's my fault for not re-reading. I was reading reviews for so many different seats and I thought this had both when I ordered. These toilet seats work exactly as described. No more fighting over closing the lid! Just give it a little tap in the direction of closing it and it closes - going down on its own. I have one toilet that is positioned in a way that made it difficult for the lid or seat to stay open without holding it. The soft, close hinges on this allows the seat to stay up without falling. I just received this toilet seat and installed it. I have mostly good things to say, I will have one negative comment… The seat is solid and seems well built. Installation was easy. It arrived in perfect condition. It feels nice and solid and has a nice weight to it. It is a simple handsome design. The soft slow closing mechanism works well. I have only one negative comment, and that is that this listing indicated that this is an easy to clean model, specifically that it had the quick easy release hinges, like my prior seat had, so that you should be able to unsnap the seat from the toilet to clean around the bottom with the toilet seat completely removed. The box that this arrived in indicated all of its features and does not mention that feature, even though this listing does say that that feature is present. Now that I have installed the toilet seat, it is clear that that feature is not included in this model. Instead of it being that easy, one would need to spend a solid five minutes with a screwdriver removing the seat if one wanted to, and instead the seat will just not be as easy to clean, as it is not reasonable to remove the screws each time the toilet is cleaned. The toilet seat is otherwise a five-star product, but I am deducting one star for the lack of this feature which was listed as being included in this product listing. I love these Toilet Seats. I do not know about you, but we have bought a lot of different Toilet Seats, and most of them have been horrible. Getting loose all the time or shifting from side to side. When we moved into our house, all our bathroom had Kohler Toilets and Seats. They were starting to get yucky so I went to Amazon and looked for a Round White Toilet Seat. This was the first thing that popped up in the search and it seemed like exactly what we had. We have four toilets, so I figured I had better just order one of the Kohler K-4648-0 Stonewood Round, Closed-Front Toilet Seats in White to start and then if they fit well I could order three more. The Particulars The Kohler K-4648-0 Stonewood Round, Closed-Front Toilet Seat, comes in White, Biscuit, Dune, or Almond. We ordered White to go with our Toilets. These are basic round seats that fit on a round Toilet Bowl. The seat and lid are connected and hinged and the whole hinge assemble attaches to the holes provided in your toilet. The hardware is plastic but holds up very well.(we replaced the same thing and they were 8 yrs old) The cover of the hinge flips up to reveal the place where you slide the bolt in. Attach the nut underneath and start screwing it on. On the top of the bolt is a shape that you can use a variety of screw drivers to tighten it down. The plastic nut has a projection off one side that you might wonder about. The reason it is there is to keep the bolt from loosening. It also allows you to tighten it mostly with your fingers and then finish it up with a screw driver. Once the nut is nearly up to the surface of your toilet that projection will catch on the side of your toilet and it will keep it from turning while you screw the bolt in. Close the hinge cover until it snaps closed and that is it. The round toilet seat is actually somewhat oblong. Not as much as an elongated toilet seat but still it is not exactly round. The seat measures 15" x 14" and the lid is 15.25" x 13" These measurements do not include the hinges. They stick out an addictional couple inches off the back. The seat of this lid is slightly countoured so that it sinks in toward the middle and has a slight ridge around it. If you use a carpet lid cover on your toilet this indentation makes it a nice sturdy seat. The Toilet Seat has two wide supports on the bottom that keep it firmly in place rather than sliding around. This is a good sturdy wooden seat but it is painted white to match our toilet. The surface is smooth and glossy. Our Experience I just installed the Kohler K-4648-0 Stonewood Round, Closed-Front White Toilet Seat and could not believe that it was nearly exactly what we had on our toilet. I was so thrilled with how it fit that I went right to Amazon and ordered 3 more. What I love about these seats is that they do not shift or loosen. In the almost four years we have lived here I have never had to tighten the seats down. I thought for sure the hardware must be metal but instead they are just well designed plastic bolts and screws. The way that the bolt is designed keeps it from loosening and the supports on the seat being bars instead of little bumps keeps it from shifting when you are sitting on the seat. I actually like this one a little better than the ones we had because while this design is nearly identical to the ones we had the lid is slightly smaller. We use those little carpet lid covers so that the toilet is a nice soft place to sit when you are not using it. I always had to squeeze the covers on my old lids but this one is just slightly smaller so that they fit perfectly. I am extremely happy with my purchase and am excited to have all new toilet seats. I bought 2 of these and one was fine with the hardware included, but the second order didn’t have any hardware, not cool. I’m wondering if it fell out of the opening. Maybe the warehouse should tape these openings as I read a few others had the same issue. Otherwise perfect toilet seat.
