I couldn't be more pleased with these futons. I bought 2 for downstairs rec area at shore house for comfortable seating and extra sleeping for for over flow of guests. The quality exceeded my expectations. The wood finish is beautiful and they are heavy with the 10inch queen mattress! The instructions are clear and the pieces are labeled with color dots and numbers. I loved that these came with extra hardware for future use. I recommend using a screw gun as this made the process even quicker. It took my husband and I three hours to put 2 of these together from unpacking to finish. I love that these also came with wooden finish caps to cover outside screws for a quality look. I did use wood glue to secure these as I'm sure they would pop out over time. These are super heavy once the mattress is on so we put felt furniture movers on the bottom of legs ( not included ) as they need to be moved out from walls a good foot to open. One person can easily open into bed position but it does take 2 to close if your using super thick mattress. Ours weigh 80+ pounds. ... show more

I have to say, it looked to be a daunting task to put this beast together when I opened the boxes (it comes shipped in two boxes). But...EVERY piece was labeled appropriately, and with the assistance of the available assembly video, the process went very smoothly. Every piece lined up as it should, every screw fitted properly, and every item went together without extra effort (hardly even any foul language, too!). I was able to assemble the frame by myself in about 2 hours (I went slow, took some breaks, and spent time watching the video). It literally was just "follow along and assemble the pieces as we're demonstrating." You do not need an engineering degree to assemble this. The frame itself is very sturdy and heavy and VERY high quality. I have a 12" thick futon mattress on it, and once I got the mattress to agree to being folded, everything worked properly. This is a piece you have to assemble. If you've never "Built" these type of pieces before, you might want to get some help from someone with experience. The instructions are adequate though. It does go smoother with 2 people. One of the screw in anchors stripped out its hole. I will stuff some toothpicks with glue into it and try to snug it in. I haven't yet. But this is something to be cautious about. The screw in anchors have a tendency to do this with softer woods. So, don't manhandle things. Othewise, I'm very satisfied and I like the drop down feature of the little side shelves. Very nice. ... show more

I did most of the put together of the Fulton by myself. I am 70 years old. I needed help putting the arms on other than that, it took about 2 hours from start to finish. Read the directions. everything is numbered or color-coded. I was impressed, Easy to put together. it is a strong futon. we put the mattress on and was ready to go. good futon for the money. ... show more

I can’t wholeheartedly recommend this frame. It was easy to assemble with super clear instructions, solid and stable. And for us, terribly uncomfortable. Once assembled, the seat was so high we could not sit in it as a normal couch. I’ve had futons before and never encountered this. Plus the bend seemed to pull us back into it. So even getting out of it was a challenge! Consequentially, this did not work for us. We ended up returning it. That is just us, though. Many good reviews indicate others find this frame satisfactory. Good luck! ... show more

Very nice frame. It was challenging to do by myself but the directions were very clear and easy to follow. The finish is nice and the frame is very sturdy. the price point is excellent for the quality, I would really have expected it to cost more. It can be assembled solo but the last part is what requires 2 assembling the lower frame to the seat/bed part. I made a rig to hold the 2 parts up while I assembled the last part. Again the quality really makes it worth it. If you have a 10 inch futon mattress like I do the mattress is still a bear. Get an 8 inch queen as 10 inch mattresses are nice but heavy and unruly. ... show more

Bought for my military son coming home until he gets his own place. He loves it but said it is rough to put all the slats together. Very roomy and sturdy. I got an 8” thick mattress so it is very comfortable.
