Comfortable easy to put together but a bit time-consuming you need two people to attach the bed as it’s heavy furniture solid sturdy product mattress very comfortable drawers are not attached but they roll in and out extremely easy on vinyl or laminate or wood flooring would recommend.

The video the company provides makes it easy to follow and assemble the futon. It took a while to assemble, but it was well worth the time. It is very comfortable and sturdy. The pad has springs in it, so I find it just as/ or more comfortable as any couch. I bought with the drawers. They are very nice, sturdy, and roll open easily. Got the white, with the spring hinged mattress. Also got the drawers. Overview: the frame is decent, the wood is mediocre quality. The frame is is made in Indonesia, where a ton of hardwood furniture is made. The biggest issue is the low quality hardware. Ive been assembling furniture for many years and seen the same cheap hardware that has been used for the last 30 years. It could be improved. I had one buggered thread, and one huge paint glob that required filing, otherwise it assembled without too much drama. You do need 2 people to do the final assembly. The drawers really need some kind of bracketry, they roll on the floor under the sofa without any attachment. The finish is good and seems durable. Came in 4 boxes, packaging was barely adequate, but that is the trend - cheap out on packaging and send free replacement for shipper damaged items. The boxes are large and too heavy for many people too lift alone. I would not want to haul them up a flight or two of stairs. The mattress is made in the USA, we got the hinged coil spring with a velour type cover. The cover is nice, no complaints. Nitpicking: some of the wood had imperfections, besides the paint issue mentioned above. I noticed some pockmarking and splitting. Yes wood is a natural product, but furniture is supposed to use selected woods. They hid the bad spots, so they don't show. The spring rate in the mattress is too soft. I'm 160lbs and it is noticeably saggy/soft feeling. If you are a heavy person, these will compress and I doubt you will be very comfortable while sitting. I've had a few futons, and the mattress is always a compromise, get it firm enough to sit on and its too hard for sleeping. The frame is the arch-typical 1x3 construction, which keeps costs down. Its a futon, not fine furniture, but using a bigger frame material and better joinery and hardware would go a long way. Using glue in the joints during assemble should be mentioned as an additional step to made the frame more stable. The hinged mattress does not seem to have a specific top or bottom, one would think it should, but we can't figure it out. Kudos: the instructions and hardware packages are both excellent. The color coding assembly instructions make assembly relatively painless. Comes with allen wrenches, you may need a mallet. You can tell that the instructions were edited/created by a native English speaker. I was a professional mechanic/assembler for 20+ years, and I have seen some atrocious instructions, so THANK YOU Kodiak, for having done this well. This gets four stars because its not an economy futon, but is still using economy engineering and hardware. Most people won't notice, but a pro mechanic or furniture maker will pick up on the undersized hardware, the UN-reinforced joints, etc. I still think its a decent value, and recommend this. ... show more

This is both a comfortable bed and a comfortable couch. The shipping boxes are a little heavy, and assembly is required, but if you are handy with hand tools this shouldn’t be an issue. It’s true that returning this to the upright position is cumbersome. So if you need to convert this on the daily, I would not recommend it. For me, though, it remains a couch in the office most of the time and becomes a bed when overnight guests are here. Then it remains a bed until they leave. Have used it for a bed twice since it arrived a month ago and both guests were impressed with how comfortable it is. I can personally attest that it is also well suited for taking naps. Shopped around locally for a good futon, but found that I would be paying, literally, twice as much to get the same bed. ... show more

We bought this for a guest room. It was important that the "couch" folded out to be a bed, to look like a bed, and to be as comfortable as a bed. We loved that it also had drawers which glide very smoothly, because there is not a lot of room for a dresser. I also loved that the woodwork was available in white! My wife had been after me to buy a futon for the extra room for the grandkids when they stayed over,but after looking at WalMart and local furniture shops I was turned off by what I'd seen. Cheap made junk!! After seeing this on Amazon,we decided to take a chance on it.When it arrived via UPS, the driver complained about how heavy it was.I tried picking it up, and immediately decide it had to have been well made.It was HEAVY! My wife and i assembled it and I seen right away,It WAS made well, good quality wood, good quality fasteners,Goes well with the home decor+++++! The futon is not supported well by the straps that are on it. They are fairly flimsy and did not match the pictures. Took the person they sent 4 hrs and said they should have sent 2 people. So bare that in mind.

Really liked the assembly very easy and took no time at all. The color was spot on from the advertising. Very comfortable especially for a futon and good support from the mattress. The only 2 things I would say could be improved. 1 better picture on the 2 draws underneath not being attached to the unit and are floating draws. 2 better support bar in the front holding the mattress. 2 days in I sat fown like normal and the front wood support snapped in half. I'm only 5'7" 170 lbs so not a big guy. The reason I give 5 stars is because customer service was number 1. They are sending out an entire new unit. They told me to fix what is broken and send back the broken parts in the boxes and what I don't use and no cost to me. Hopefully no other problems with this from this point on. ... show more
