If you watch the video there's no reason any one couldn't do this with no problem. They make it so easy to do. You really only need a second person at the end. It's very nice looking too. However the wood seems a little soft. I wouldn't recommend letting kids jump all over it. But it handles my 240 lbs with no problem and is comfortable enough.

Purchased for extra sleeping space for visitors in the bonus room. Solid wood. It is not a bed, but a great option for an overnight guest. I was eager to assemble and not too difficult for one female. *Printed instructions where not in the main box but assembly videos were available on the website and indicated on the outside of the box. Found the written instructions when moving on to the second box. Reached a point where two are needed to lift the slatted bed into the frame. Video also shows this. Mattress is comfortable and can add a cover to change the look. Sides flip up to create a side table which is a nice addition when space is limited. Will have to add felt bumpers to keep one end from rattling when in closed position. Drawers are a nice addition to keep sheets. They are not attached and just roll under the futon inside the frame. Mattress took two days to fully expand after compression in shipping. If you have a smaller room, do not open matress until you have the bed put together.

It's tedious to build but I was able to do it alone! The mattress isn't super comfortable but it's fine for guests. I got the full size, I think that's plenty big enough unless you're lucky enough to be tall! The drawers were interesting, as they don't go onto any track, they literally just roll under the futon. Over all, not bad for the price! It comes in a set of three boxes and the mattress rolled separately!

I hate buying furniture online, I would much rather go to the store and actually sit/lay on the furniture before making a purchase. Well, in my area futons are very hard to come by, other than the cheap ones at Walmart or Big Lots. I didn't want something cheap, I wanted something nice, as this was going to be used by me every single day: this is my bed now, and it was a risky purchase for sure, but it was a good purchase in the end. First off, one thing I want to say is that this futon did come with instructions and had all the bolts and tools needed to assemble it. I do recommend putting up the assembly video on a TV or something to complement having the instructions, they aren't hard to follow, but it's nice knowing you're for sure not making any mistakes. Also, the video called for a few extra pieces that weren't in my packaging, they were actually in the packaging for arm rests/sides of the futon (which was silly because that's what they were actually for.) Make sure you open all the boxes and check for everything before making a run to the hardware store (which I almost did.) Oh also you might want to bring your own allen wrench, the futon set came with 2 I think, or maybe it was 3? I don't remember. The reason I don't remember is because one of them started stripping out on me (the tool, not the bolts) and I just threw it away and got one of my own. Just a little tip if you have any allen wrenches available, I'm sure I could have assembled this with the ones it came with, but when I have a better tool I just use it. Oh yeah, you probably want to hear about comfort. So I'm a little picky about my furniture, especially beds. I prefer a soft couch and a firm bed, be warned, this is not soft. If you're going for a soft couch/sofa then I would recommend getting a different futon mattress, the one this came with is pretty firm, but that is what I was wanting since I'm also sleeping on this. I'll gladly take a firm couch if it means a firm bed over a soft version of said bed. This isn't uncomfortable by any means, but you should know it is definitely firm. Almost as firm as some outdoor furniture with cushions, but still soft enough to sit on for hours without feeling like you need to get up. One more thing you should know, I got a versions with the drawers underneath. The casters for these are a little smaller than I was expecting, and it does roll very straight, but uh, it doesn't roll hardly at all on my carpet. It's not a deal breaker by any means, but it is a slight annoyance when I'm sitting on the futon and need to slide a drawer out, I usually have to get off the futon so I can get a good pull on the drawer. If you have very short carpet, it should be fine. If it's on hardwood, tile, or something of the sort, then you're definitely good to go. Overall, this futon is wonderful. I leaned a little closer to 4 stars than 5 stars at first, but after using this for over a week now I can honestly say this is easily a 5 star review. Again, be mindful that the mattress is firm, if you want a soft couch/sofa replacement, this is probably not it. But if you want something that will be used as a bed just as much as it is a couch/sofa, then this is a very good option.

We bought this over a year ago, and it has been a sturdy and very comfortable futon couch and mattress. We love the storage options. It is our living room couch and our guest bed. We were terriblly sad when my husband accidentally broke a piece that compromised the integrity of the structure. Luckily for us we still had their stickers on the pieces because they are out of sight when fully assembled. We reached out to Kodiak through their website asking if they would sell us a replacement piece. They responded just asking for our maing address and sent us the replacement for free. Loved this customer service. I have recommended Kodiak furnitures futon to everyone I know now due to excellent customer service and a fantastic Product.

This is a great futon! It arrived quickly and was fairly easy to put together, as long as you follow the instructions and match up the colored stickers to put the pieces in the correct places. My only complaint is that this model was supposed to come with drawers, and we did not receive the drawers. We got the base, the arms, the back and seat decks, and the mattress, but no drawers. The tables attached to the arms do fold up and down so that's a plus. Also, the mattress is very comfortable and the cover seems to be removable so it can be washed. The cover is very soft and feels nice to touch. This futon can easily fit 3 adults, 4 even if you squish together. Great for our small apartment, just missing the drawers... *UPDATE: The drawers ended up arriving a day after the rest of the futon. The entire thing came in 3 separate packages, so be aware that you may receive things at different times. But overall, everything arrived fairly quickly for being such a large package and the set-up was mostly straightforward. As long as you can muster up a little patience, this futon is definitely worth it :)

Quick delivery - about a week earlier than expected. The frame is very solid and sturdy. It was frustrating to put together at times and I definitely recommend 2 people for assembly. The mattress is fine while in the sitting or lounging position. But it's quite firm for sleeping. The description says it's an 8 inch mattress but my measuring tape shows it as 6 inches.
