Since that time the company reached out to me and gave me some advice on how to make it work better. I was then able to get the futon to move to the sitting position. We bought a queen size futon. It was easy to assemble and is very sturdy and comfortable. Only thing I have to complain about is the mattress has a strong chemical smell and stinks up my room.

Took my husband 3 hours to get 75% of the way and then he called in reinforcements for the last part (me) and it was another hour from there. It came in 4 boxes, 2 of them were really big and they didn't all arrive at the same time. The futon part is pretty firm but is not all slouchy and never needs adjustments.
