We ordered this for our new room because we needed seating but also wanted the bed for when our kids and families are here. I am a 71 year old woman and I put it all together except needed help to put the bed frame on the base. It came short one piece of hardware and one side had a split in the wood. I emailed the company on a Friday night and they responded first thing Monday morning. They sent the replacements right away. I am so impressed with the company! They were quick, courteous and very helpful. And I really appreciate that. Back to the futon. We had everyone here for Thanksgiving and it worked out great! It is comfortable and looks great in the room. It was easy to put together and is a sturdy piece of furniture. It has been slept on and they slept well and found it comfortable. My only complaint is that although it is easy for one person to make it into a bed, one person cannot make it back into a couch. It takes a second person to lift the back to get it started so you can transform it into a couch. ... show more

    • It takes two people to set up
It does take two people to pull it into a bed and back into a couch. Otherwise it is a really nice couch and comfortable bed!!! The side tables and drawers storage are convenient and amazing. Assembly was so simple but it did take two people to do.

    • Happy enough
I like it..the family likes it...but don't expect it to be perfect. One hole was not drilled in properly, so a piece on the drawer is not quite aligned, and there are some dents and nicks, and a few non sanded parts..most unseen. They have a glue like feeling to the wood slats, which I assume is intended to keep the mattress from slipping, but some of that glue was on places it should not have been, and is noticeable on the frame in the front. It seems to do well, unless folding or unfolding the frame...then it moves, and we adjust. The mattress is heavy and firm..firm for sure, but supports well, and I expect will last a bit longer since it is firm. Minus the dings and scratches, which always drives me nuts and seems to be typical of anything I buy anymore, probably the most annoying thing is how hard it is to set back up as a couch from a bed...man...I would say near impossible for one person..and surely not a short person. the bottom of the drawers are also made of a cheap material..king of like what you get on the back of those cheap bookshelves from Walmart. The only other complaint I have is the package arrived soaked. There as a heavy rain that day. I watched as he placed them on my porch, and immediately went to get them, but the boxes began disintegrating. Fortunately, the mattress inside was fully wrapped in plastic, so no harm was done to the mattress. In the end, I would still recommend purchasing, and am glad I did. My son , who has to sleep on it every night during the summer, as his sister stole his room when he went to college, loves it, and it looks nice. Someday will try to post a picture...when he doesn't have his stuff all over it. ... show more

    • Near perfect in all measures
Packed very well. Easy to understand manual. Have to find out it’s longevity later. Quality looks good but I don’t know anything about woods. I will definitely recommend this to other people looking for Futon.

    • Not your usual flimsey futon
This futon was not difficult to assemble but the two of us being old it took a couple hours. Everything fit together nicely except one hole for the anchor was a bit crooked but it really didn't cause a problem. The mattress on this futon is exceptional and the upholstery is also top notch. If I need another futon I know where to go! ... show more

I love this futon. I sleep on this nightly. This is heavy, but it is also sturdy. This arrived in 4 boxes (one box being the drawer set). You can put the drawers together at your leisure as they are on rollers and are not attached. 2 people are ideal for futon assembly. 1 person is fine for drawer assembly. I am short so I recommend pairing this with your favorite ottoman since it seems built for a taller person (unless you are tall). I am able to easily put into the bed position. It is a little harder for me to put into recline or sitting by myself, but possible. ... show more

    • Everything it says it is...
I wasn't sure how this couch would turn out based on the reviews. It's a firm futon, but we like that because that means the mattress won't collapse in a year. As other reviews said, the drawers aren't attached to the frame, but since we have the couch on a rug, it slides in and out smoothly. Two-person assembly makes things go faster, and honestly, I've found it necessary to have two people to move it into the other positions as it's difficult, being a small woman, to move it myself. ... show more
