If you don't make sure the frame sits in grooves correctly on the plastic roller correctly it will not sit or lay easily. If it wasn’t for the video, assembling this would be way harder. The only hard part was getting the frame inside both arms at the end. The mattress is ok but very comfortable if you add a mattress topper. Shipping was terrible. I had to call fed ex multiple times to see where my package was. At first I only received one package. It took much longer than expected to receive the rest. But that has nothing to do with the shipper, it’s all on fed ex. At the end, satisfied with my purchase. ... show more

I bought this for my teenager who wanted a futon for his bed, so he can also use it as a couch. I was hesitant to buy one because they can be awfully pricey, I also dreaded having to put it together. It arrived quickly, in 3 packages. The instructions book is a bit of a joke. It’s mainly just pictures with very little written direction. HOWEVER, they do include a link to an actual video of someone putting the futon together step by step. Which I found extremely helpful. It would be difficult to put together by yourself, especially the final 3 steps. But not impossible. It took me and my teenager 4 hours to put together, it would of been less time, but I mixed up the screws and got stuck on one of the final steps by not using the correct screws and had to re do it. The mattress is thicker than I thought it would be, it’s also heavy. The frame, is very supportive and sturdy. (My kid is 6’ and 290, the queen futon fits him well and it supports him as well) I highly recommend this futon based on price (cheapest I’ve found) easy assembly (if you don’t mix up the screws) sturdiness and it looks great in the space. ... show more

The greatest difficulty with this quality made futon is changing it from a sleeping position to a seated position. The mattress is so thick and comfortable and slightly heavy that it takes two to change the position. The instructions and hardware was organized well. We are happy with our Kiodiak futon. Assembly went fairly well but a bit challenging. Our main issue is that the box with the armrests was not damaged but the armrest was broken. We feel we can live with the broken wood and try to repair it ourselves. Shipping back and returning was to much of a hassle. Other than that we are happy with our purchase. Thank you ... show more

Loved this futon, while the assembly can be a bit difficult if your doing it by yourself you can definitely tell it was designed to take a bit of beating and is very sturdy. The mattress itself is pretty comfortable as well.
