Description

Induction-hardened gripping teeth and push-button adjustment allow Knipex Forged Steel Cobra Pliers to safely and securely latch onto pipes, nuts and other hard-to-grasp objects. Just position the upper jaw to a workpiece, depress the patented push button and slide the lower jaw into place underneath. Adjustable among several positions, these water pump pliers self- lock onto nuts and pipes without fear of crushing fingers thanks to an anti- pinching guard that prevents the handles from clamping down on each other. Set includes 87 01 180 and 87 01 250.

The pliars are very good quality and I use them more than I realized I would. I'm a Channelloc guy and wanted to try these to see what all the hype was about. The advantage of KNIPEX is the fine adjustment and they grip a little better than my Channellocs. All of those little adjustment teeth give you more grip options and the jaw teeth are a little tougher. The only advantage of Channellocs I noticed at first is the speed of their jaw adjustment but I've noticed that the more I use the KNIPEX I keep getting faster and faster with them and now my Channellocs stay in my toolbox because I'm always grabbing for the KNIPEX pliars. In the end I like the KNIPEX for more adjustment options, better jaw teeth, the ability of them to grab and hold on tightly even out on the ends of the teeth. Very high quality pliers. Can accomplish tasks which would likely cause slippage on other slip joint pliers. A bit more expensive than my other favorite brands, these seem to be better engineered. They can access tighter spaces and still retain a maximal gripping force.
