Casting a little rough for an expensive item. Pliers don’t fully close. I bought a 250 & a 300. The 300 came in a bubble envelope and was fine. The 250 came from an European warehouse according to seller via parcel pool. It was shipped in a thin cardboard envelope. Item arrived with working end protruding out of the envelope. No damage found. I believe the small air gap between the tips is a manufacturing problem. The casting contacts in the pivot area and prevents the full closure. A little mold flashing is still present and casting surface is tough. I believe it is genuine. I will not be purchasing the 150 or 180 as I think the 250 can used. ... show more

One thing folks might not like: the lock button. Once the selected width is set, you need to push the button to adjust to another size. I like the button/lock feature. The jaw opening and overall size is good for my purposes (general residential projects). The quality of this Knipex water pump pliers is great. My review is influenced by having struggled with an inexpensive pair for decades, so I’m guessing even a pair that sells for 1/2 the price would have thrilled me. Though, I have a different Knipex product that I carry in my pocket every day at work (7.5” pliers wrench with smooth jaws (no ‘grip’ teeth)), so having had such good luck with 2 Knipex products, I might be raising my standards! Incredibly useful tool. I also like the grips. Different than the grips I’ve used or seen before, but they seem like they’ll hold up. ... show more

The Knipex Cobra Pliers were exactly as expected. The DHL delivery was incredibly bad. Instead of placing the package in our black plastic box labeled, DELIVERIES, the package was left outside in the rain. I didn't need to worry about opening it, as the package disintegrated in my hands. The pliers were in a flimsy plastic bag, open on one end. It is the first time I've had to wipe a new tool dry on delivery. If there was a place to rate the delivery, I would have given DHL a ZERO. Knipex or whoever shipped the pliers should consider sealed plastic wrapping with a desiccant inside. A padded plastic tear proof envelope should have been used. ... show more
