I try to always buy the best tools I can afford. In my experience, the durability and reliability is worth the extra price as long as you're not prone to misplacing tools.     • Great for my purposes.
I purchased two pairs of these for weaving small- to mid-size chainmail (as it's just a hobby, I tend to stay in the 16-20ga range). These pliers are extremely comfortable to use, fitting nicely into my relatively small hands. Although I did not really need the dissipative handles, they were at the time cheaper than the normal version, so these are the ones I bought. I cannot speak to their efficacy in that regard, but they are some fabulously good pliers for small work that have supplanted my old favorites quite handily. Since the Amazon entry is a bit less than specific with the measurements, I'll tell you the tip width is approximately 4mm. The jaws are completely flat and mirror-polished. The grips are "hand-sized." If you have any Baby Wubbers, they're sort of that size, but the handles are stouter and more comfortable.
