Description

Designed to pull 50–60 pounds of tension on their blades, which makes it much stronger, and the blades vibrate less than our Mk3 saws. They are are also thicker and slightly heavier, closer to the weight of a traditional saw, but still lighter. The saw is powder-coated red and is extremely scratch and damage resistant. The Cam Lever Tension is designed for rapid, repetitive blade changes (when piercing for example). The tension does not change when re-setting the blade. Simply flip the lever forward to release tension, re- position and clamp the blade, and flip the lever to the rear, and you are sawing.

My dad volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and does a lot of trim work. Some of his friends have this saw and he was jealous. So I bought him this for Christmas. And good lord. When I first saw this saw I said I would never pay that much for a fret saw. After watching tons of videos on cutting dove tales I noticed that everyone was using a Knew saw. After researching the saws I decided to purchase a 5” fret saw. After using it I love this saw, it fits in the kerf from my saw and is super easy to cut close to the knife marks for the dove tails. Best at two main features- light and strong. No flex in the frame so all energy transfers directly to the material. Light weight = maneuverability. Used on Purple Heart, Ziricote hardwoods to start off my trial. Perfect in both cases. Its a fun tool to use. Set up and blade swaps as easy as it gets.     • Far superior to standard coping saw
The tension drastically improves the cutting, especially on very tight curves. It can use thinner blades than my coping saw. The blade exchange appears easy when I removed and reinstalled the factory blade. I checked this due to a few negative comments regarding blade exchange. After researching and watching some video reviews I purchased this saw having ruled out the green lion and haymaker. I haven't used those saws so I cannot compare them, however I really love this one. It's light very well balanced and cuts well.     • Pricey but worth it.
I have used many fret and coping saws for woodworking, mainly clearing out dovetail waste, and this is by far the best I've used. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Would highly recommend to anyone who can get their hands on one.
