I learned some fingerpicking about 30 years ago in college, but stopped playing (why? I don't know) about 5 years after. I had and still have a "Trillo guitar" but the action on it was always too hard. It occurred to me it would be good to have a second guitar before I brought it in to be repaired, and the guy at Twin Town guitars recommended a Martin X-series triple 0 guitar which I bought and which had a wonderful sound, but I naively expected that acoustic guitars would be built more with durability in mind. After reading the care guide for the instrument I realized that I didn't want something so fragile. The finish would put a line on my bare leg when I played! So I returned in within 48 hours and the guy I returned it to was kind enough to grant me a full refund. I had noticed videos about carbon fiber guitars and I browsed some and this looked like a good fit. I love it! It's very nice to look at and so tough too--you've probably seen the ad where they drop cement bricks on it and it's unharmed and a young woman uses it for a bat playing ball...well, I'm not about to do that, but it shows me that this is not going to require extreme care. And the sound is very lovely too. It has that sort of resonance that can make guitars sound like the ethereal instruments they are. I think it compares well with the Martin.. It came with the neck detached which is very handy if you want to bring it with you in the bag provided, it's simple to assemble and they made videos about all the care you need or want to keep it looking and playing nice. I bought this because I have a house in Massachusetts that is cold and I keep the woodstove going -then I travel to my unheated cabin in Vermont (also with a wood stove ). I also have been playing music with my friend(not in my covid bubble)-so we are playing distanced outside under a canopy in New England winter. It works and is fun....but my wood guitars weren’t so happy. So ....cold out, sometimes snowy and inside is very dry... I was looking for a non-wood guitar so that I can be freer with it - I wanted to leave it in a stand outside it’s case without worry. I ordered this guitar (full size and no pick up). I couldn’t be happier. The guitar is so much better than I expected - the size is perfect, the sound is lovely, vibrant and the guitar plays so nicely. I was ready to accept ‘decent’ in order to be able to leave it in a stand and cart it with me everywhere and it is definitely that but I fell in love with it. I don’t want to stop playing and only wish I’d gotten the pick up (I didn’t think I’d like the guitar enough to play out with it) - I’m very happy. I emailed the folks at klos to confirm that I wasn’t going to screw up this guitar - that I was ok to use in these conditions- they said “this is the perfect guitar for that”. Guitars are a tough item to buy...especially on the internet but guitars that travel well are even harder to find. Goin sailing in Dec and wanted something that travels easier. Bought this full size composite guitar. Really happy so far. Sounds great and super small to pack. It's not the travel/small size. I also like the thought of not cutting down so many trees. When buying on Amazon there's no option for an additional sound hole, might send this one direct to Klos to have them cut one. ... show more

    • What an amazing product!
There is nothing to dislike about this guitar. A superb product. We leave it on our boat in Galveston, TX-- high humidity, volatile weather-- and it is still in tune after a month of neglect. Sounds great, looks cool. We are very happy. (Note: we have the full size, not the travel size.)

This guitar is so dang awesome, easy to put together and sounds amazing! Love the fact that it’s indestructible cause I had 2 guitars break on me in like 2 weeks so I needed this. Definitely recommend this guitar it won’t let ya down man🤙

    • KLOS Guitars Rock!
I bought a smaller size KLOS travel guitar a few years ago, and still take it on every trip I take. I liked the travel guitar so much that I also bought the KLOS full size model as soon as it came out, and I have not regretted it one bit. I hardly ever play my Martin DCPA4 anymore, even though it cost almost twice as much. Although the Marin sounds great and has unbeatable tone sustain, I am seriously considering selling the Martin and sticking with the KLOS as my main guitar. By comparison, the Martin dreadnaught is so large and heavy, and I find it less fun to play. There is nothing to dislike about this guitar. I absolutely love the fact that it's so light and easy to play, with absolutely zero worries about banging it into something, dropping it, low humidity or temperature concerns, etc. It's pretty much maintenance free and indestructible. I added a K&K Sound acoustic pickup to mine (no preamp or battery required), and it really sounds great plugged into an amp. It would be great if someday in the future KLOS offers this full-size guitar with cutout access to the higher frets. If they do that, then I'll own three of their guitars for sure. Great job KLOS, you folks have really nailed it with this guitar! ... show more

    • Sounds fantastic
Did not buy it here, bought thru Kickstarter as a B model. Great sound , durable and lightweight. Very happy as I sold a Taylor to pay for it . The humidity proof construction and taking it camping we’re the big seller.
