We took an old favorite and made it even more lovable. Our Climate Lock™ vacuum insulated food canisters now include TK Closure™ internal thread design for increased thermal performance and a newly designed bowl-shaped base. The updated lid creates an all-stainless interior so food never comes into contact with plastic, locks in leakproof storage in just a quick quarter turn, and features an easy-carry swivel loop.     • Keeps food cold
I bought 2 of these to use for taking cold food to the beach. It keeps our frozen Açai really cold for quite a while. It is so nice to be able to sit on the beach in very hot weather and enjoy cool and refreshing foods! We have not used them for hot foods yet, but will try that when things cool down here in South Florida! ... show more

    • lukewarm, hard to open, lead spot
The overall design has an aesthetic sense echoing minimalism, which I appreciate very much. Thus the reason I bought the canister. The functionality disappoints me in three aspects: lukewarm lunch, lid is hard to open, and lead spot hidden on bottom. I put freshly cooked meal in the canister at 9pm then have it as lunch the next day 12pm, which is 15 hours later. The meal is on the edge between lukewarm and room temperature. Not impressive on thermal retention, considering it is advertised as keeping hot for 11 hours. The lid is difficult to open without the techniques I developed specially for this canister. I put a elastic rubber band on the cylinder steel body so that my hand can hold it firmly without slipping. The lid is then twisted about a quarter of circle by holding the steel arc lift. At this point the lid won't open any further due to atmosphere pressure. It is rock solid. I have to put the end of a spoon in the gap under the lid to pry it until some air is leaked. The whole process takes less than a minute at my second use. The first time I struggled for about 5 minutes in desperation, heart pounding, fighting for my life to get the food. The center of the bottom has a small round cover on the external surface. This kind of practice is usually used to cover up lead solder which is a cheap manufacturing method for insulation containers. I am very disappointed to see the cover. The longevity of such method is a concern. As years go by, there is a chance the poisonous lead would slowly leak out. Without a metal analyzer to monitor on weekly bases, not feeling comfortable taking such chance. But hey this is the reality that we are living in, surrounded by known and unknown man made harmful substance as collateral damage in the pursuit of profit. ... show more

    • "The paint bucket"
My son is using this for lunch. His friends call it "The paint bucket". It is huge - but it has transformed his lunches. He is loving hot soup, ramen noodles, pasta, burritos, and various microwaved meals. We can heat them up in the morning, and they are still hot and delicious at lunch. Yum!

    • Impossible to open
The container is way to difficult to open. When you put in something hot the container forms a vacuum seal which in nearly impossible to break. Do not buy!!!!

    • Odor
Used once with a prawn salad and the soft inner gasket/cap absorbed the odor of the shellfish which won't wash out :-( UPDATED to 3 Stars from 1 - Klean Kanteen reached out and offered a replacement of the silicone inner part which was great service on their part. The replacement arrived with the caveat that the new part shouldn't be used with food that has a strong odor - why are they using such a low grade of material such that it absorbs odor?!? The Canister is leak proof and works as expected keeping food hot/cold so ok - 3 Stars and I'll only use it for bland foods :-p ... show more
