You want a scale that can weigh at least as much as the flour or water you use for bread. The 3000 g limit is just about too small so I weigh in a plastic bowl and I am okay. The real benefit of this scale is on the low end. You can weigh out 0.2g yeast on this thing. That is all the yeast you need for some of these overnight pre-fermented bread recipes. If you bought a scale that can weigh buckets of stuff, you would not be able to do the yeast too. I use the Recipe Keeper app so I can scale any recipe up or down easily. Have you ever baked a batch of just 2 bran muffins? I have using this scale. Weigh 2.6 g baking powder. Yup! It takes time to google each ingredient but it’s worth it. “Ingredient tsp to g” or “ingredient c to g”. You will get the conversion factor to grams and you are good to go. You guessed it. I AM an engineer. I can’t help it.

Nice scale and worked well. After three months it started showing a “Lo” reading. I changed the battery for new but older batteries and could not get it to work. As a last ditch attempt I purchased brand new batteries and it works. The old batteries were placed in a flashlight and work fine. Short of it is put very fresh batteries and it works fine.
