Tools include gouges, skew, v-tool, and a variety of chip carving knives. Produced by Two Cherries in Germany, the blades are hand forged of exceptional quality steel and are heat-treated to 61° Rockwell so they stay sharp longer than most other tools. The wooden octagon handle is comfortable to use and will not roll off your work surface. Because of the quality materials and workmanship, these tools are strong, yet surprisingly light and well balanced, allowing the carver more control and less fatigue during use.

I have fallen in love with this carving set! The blades are razor sharp, and made from high quality steel. The handles are very sturdy, I bet they will last for years, and they come in a nice wooden carry case. I would recommend these with no hesitation, and as a gift I would be STOKED!!!

This set is an ideal starter set for those who are already experienced as well as beginning to carve. I got this set for my brothers wedding party gift because he is into making furniture but not into wood carving, yet. It looks like everything I expected except the V notch has a small knick right at the bottom of the V. I hope this can be filed out without damage to the tool. I am proud of the tools made in the USA, but when it comes to chisels and fine woodworking tools, the Europeans do an excellent job. They take very seriously their manufacturing processes, tolerances, and their commitment to excellence!

    • Some of the tools are good and sharp some not so much.

I haven't used them all yet but have used most of them. At least three of the smaller tips broke and had to be reground before I could use them again. I thought the steel would be better quality than Chinese made tools but I was sadly mistaken.

The absolute best carving set I have ever had. The shipment from Germany was very fast. Ordered on the 6th received on the 15th, keeping in mind that they had to go thu customs. They are extremely sharp. Will order replacements if these ever wear out, which I doubt. Thanks for a very good product.
