  • Should not be used for standard chickens.
Pattern Name: Style2
I included some not so good pictures to reflect some size issues I had with the scoop. It is a pretty coupe, made with of course low quality wood so it won’t last very long really. Pay for what you get right? I needed a coop rather quickly as my I Ayam Cemani hen was being attacked while trying to sit on her eggs. She needed her own space so I got a small coop, this one saying two chickens could fit in it and up to 11 inches tall. She is 10 inches and almost that wide. First of all the bottom of the ramp only has 2 inches of space from the end to the wall, this prevents the chicken from actually being able to walk down and exit the ramp comfortably. Instead they kind of make it down have to turn around and sort of jump off into the small space next to the ramp. It’s just not enough space the coop should be another foot long to accommodate the ramp. Second the door entry into the coop, is very small. The hen hast to truly duck down and tuck in to get in or out. This is difficult mostly to come out as it’s a significant angle down the ramp. The hen box, the interior at the highest point is 11 inches before bedding, allowing about 7” height. The width of it is barely 14 inches, once you put the divider in a chicken only has 7 inches width in its box. This is very tiny tight space. The biggest issue I had in the end was the height of the box. My hen had to duck down significantly to walk in and try to turn around to sit down. Trying to do this while navigating her eggs, caused her to step on her eggs killing a few babies. It was very horrific, as some had their intestines squished out and they were in the beginning period of their hatching too. They were strong healthy and would have been just fine had she not had to deal with the height of the box, trying to duck down and turn around to lay on her eggs. I did contact the seller to inform them of my observations. I very clearly went over their listing and the measurements and found it to be deceiving. The measurements given are the outside measurements that include the trim pieces. The interior of course is going to be smaller, but the suggestion that this can be used for a standard chicken is absurd, let alone two chickens to use the nesting boxes. I remove the divider and gave my chicken the entire box and it was still too small for her. As I lost a few hundred dollars in chicks, I requested a refund without sending the coop back. It would have taken me time to disassemble, buy a box, take it and have it shipped which would have cost the seller shipping costs.I felt after my losses this was a fair request understanding that they can write this off. We had a few messages back and forth, and all I will say about the seller is this. They responded quickly. They were not heartfelt or caring about our loss and trauma experienced. My eight year old daughter was in charge of this chicken and her chicks and witnessed all of this. They did not seem sincere at all and caring about what we went through and simply stated a couple times that they found no issue with the quality of their coop. I never suggested there was an issue with quality I suggested there was an issue with the measurements and suggestion that it was OK for standard chickens of 11 inches tall. I strongly believe the scoop is only for bantam chickens or other small animals. Not for a standard chicken. The seller did end up giving me a full refund and accepted a write off as their best option. So in the end, nice coupe, not high-quality so don’t expect it to last a very long time. Most of all don’t use it for a standard chicken let alone two. ... show more

  • Good for 2 small hens.

It lacks ventilation but it is very easy to put together I will make a few accommodations like screen across the window instead of plastic, but overall was as described. Also arrived early so that was a plus!!!

  • Worth the price
Pattern Name: Style2
I searched everywhere for a replacement pen just like the one I bought almost 4 years ago...and finally found one equal or better. It is exactly the same design, but I like that it has the tar paper/gravel roof rather than the original wood slat kind that leaked from day one (which I repaired repaired several times). This pen has much more room than other designs, and is built very well, and made from cedar. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable, sturdy pen. I purchased 4 to replace several I had, plus 2 spares to keep on hand for the future. That is how much I like the quality of this pen. ... show more

  • For the price, it’s decent

Missing a whole panel. I had to cut some plywood to replace it. The quality is very poor and a strong wind would blow it away but it’s a CHEAP price so I wasn’t expecting a HIGH END product! You get what you pay for!!

  • Sturdy, well built
Pattern Name: Style2
It's smaller than expected. It will house 2-3 chickens at the most. I wouldn't put anymore than that. But it's nice, can't complaint.
