This little gate was unbelievable easy to install. My ground is very hard, but the gate went in smoothly with a beater. Seems well built and reminds my dogs to go around my rock garden which is the purpose They could easily jump over it if they wanted to, but understand its not okay. So it functions as I intended and my 80 dog doesn't knock it over when running. My rock garden has chance to be great now that it has a little deterrent for protection against poo and pee.

I've tried smaller compost bins in the past, but they rarely worked well—until I learned that you need a minimum size of 3 ft x 3 ft for effective hot composting. I set up this 5-panel set in a pentagon shape, and the gate panel makes it easy to access the pile with a pitchfork for turning. All you need is a mallet to drive in the metal stakes, so the setup is very straightforward, and it can be easily disassembled and relocated if needed. The pentagon configuration, with panels that are nearly 28” wide and 32” tall, comes close enough in volume to support hot composting. I also appreciate that the design is more visually appealing than most pre-made composters. I’ve been using another product like this for about six months with great results, so I tried this one side by side. The only noticeable difference is the curve design on top—this one curves upward, while my older unit curves downward while looking very similar. I'm deducting one star because the uncoated gate latch started rusting in a relatively short time, and I’ve also noticed rust developing at some of the welded wire junctions, despite the product being marketed as rustproof. It’s not a deal-breaker since I can easily fix it with spray paint, but it would’ve been better if it were properly coated from the start.

So far, this fence has been doing its job—mainly convincing the local deer to look elsewhere for their salad bar. Is it tall enough to stop an Olympic-level deer hop? Not quite. But when used around individual plants or garden beds, it works well as a visual and physical deterrent. The gate is a nice touch for quick access, and the setup is refreshingly simple—no digging, no fuss. It’s also sturdier than I expected, holding up well even with the Texas wind doing its best impersonation of a leaf blower on steroids. One heads-up: be careful when hammering the stakes into hard ground. It's easy to snap off the decorative top, which leaves behind a sharp edge that’s just waiting to catch a sleeve—or a finger. In short: it's not a fortress, but it’s a smart way to keep your blooms from becoming breakfast.
