Even though there isn't substantial soundproofing, it does provide a slight increase in quiet. I wear it underneath my hair. I read soooooo many product reviews before ordering this mask, and I’ve very satisfied with my overall choice. #1 it is made with very soft, comfy, fluffy material #2 it does 100% black out the light thanks to the extra material around the nose #3 I’m a side-sleeper and other reviews for other masks listed concerns or issues for side-sleepers, but I am happy to say I sleep comfortably in this mask on my side #4 I actually like how large the mask is for overall coverage and the way it wraps around my head without any pinching or tight straps #5 I also like that there is a little “loop” to grab onto where the Velcro fastens so that you can easily pull the mask open if needed #6 I’m Don’t toss & turn much during the night but on the few occasions I rolled over or shifted my pillow the mask did not seem to move around much (I also think that depends on how loosely or securely you Velcro the mask ends together) LASTLY… a lot of the reviews I read for other masks said how people like when the eye area of masks do not touch their eyes, this mask will touch your eyelids but I do not mind this—however, if that bothers you or if you wear false lashes then maybe the material contact will bother you. I find this mask cozy and helpful in getting sleep when I need the light blocked out.

Been using this thing for a few days now and it’s very nice for keeping out light and it’s very comfortable. The fact that it wraps around the ears is nice to prevent irritation on the tops of the ears, but it doesn’t block any more sound than say a thin blanket. Definitely feel leaving the gel pad in the freezer is overkill tho. Tried it one time and it gave me a slight ache in my eyes. The fridge is plenty cold! Thankfully, the fabric hasn’t gotten too warm or sweaty when sleeping (for content, night where I am are in the 65-75 range). I would love if it came in more sizes, as I guess my head is a bit small lol. The straps overlap quit a lot on me and the bottom one reaches my ear, which requires some adjusting to keep it from getting uncomfortable. The velcro doesn’t feel the sturdiest, but it hasn’t fallen off yet. It’s definitely had me sleeping well into daylight without any idea that it was any brighter in my room haha, so alarms are very necessary now!

I've used the elastic eye masks in the past and my hair gets a little tangled in the stretchy band. This softer mask doesn't bother my hair in the back. It totally blocks out the light very well.

This mask is incredibly comfortable, blocks light without sitting uncomfortably on the nose, and generally stays in place. However, I only purchased this mask in July (it's September as I write this), and it has already stretched out to the point that it barely fits on my head. And because I have to tighten it so much, it leaves one unattached velcro end just free floating — it folds uncomfortably or gets stuck on my pillow and comes undone. Another reviewer said it was designed for giants, and I have to second that. When I first bought it, I had to tighten it quite a bit, but that problem has been exacerbated by the fact that it has stretched so much. If you have a larger head or are okay replacing this product frequently, then, yes, this mask is very comfortable and excellent at its job for short periods of time! While this does not affect my rating, I was also sent the wrong color. I ordered the pink and got the dark grey. Definitely not as cute. You know, as cute as this thing ever had the potential of being.

Every feature of this mask is perfect. I was trying to wear a regular sleep mask with the elastic strap along with a CPAP. Even without the mask the straps were sometimes uncomfortable on and behind the ears. One morning I woke up and has slept so well that I did not toss and turn. Great thing. However my ear was very sore where it was on against the strap. I actually, a pretty healthy middle aged person, developed a pressure area from this. I immediately began looking at options as I work night and cannot sleep without a sleep mask and should not go without the CPAP mask to accommodate that. This mask is wide and soft on the side so I can actually wear it covering the ears entirely with no points of pressure whatsoever. I was afraid that the mask itself would rub against my eyelids/eyelashes as they are not sort of raised or carved out like other mask are that accommodate long lashes. This has not been a problem. The gel pads apparently frame the material just enough. I have not heated or cooled the pads so I cannot comment on that feature. I do notice, though, that it is definitely not hot just at room temperature it feels cool against the skin when I first put it on. Obviously I highly recommend. Especially for fellow CPAP wearers, it has made a huge difference in my compliance and quality of sleep.
