I shopped around and read countless reviews on mattresses, both standard and ones that come in a box and it was truly overwhelming. Somehow I came across this hybrid from Avenco and went with it. I've had it for three months and it's been great. The sides are soft, so when you sit along the edge, it is quite squishy - but I knew this before I purchased. So far, the mattress has been comfy, not overly hot, the shape has held up, you don't feel your partner's movements in the night, and there has been no strange smell; I've been really pleased. I would recommend giving this one a try if you are looking to not spend a ton of money and are overwhelmed by the number of options. I will say, neither of us had back issues going in to this purchase, so I can't comment on if it's beneficial for those that do have back problems. ... show more

There is nothing yet I dislike about this mattress. I do wish the top side of the mattress was marked top when opening because when you cut the plastic with the handy little tool included, it pops out like a jack in the box! I put this mattress in my guest room. I want my guest to be comfy with out spending a small fortune. This California King size mattress can not be beat for the price! I looked every where. I read the reviews and was a little hesitant but glad I went ahead with the order. It is firm but yet because of the memory foam, soft to lay on. I did some research before going with this mattress and I'm glad I did. I needed a bed for my new apartment, and this one was highly recommend. Is it perfect? No, but I sleep great -- and I'm a light sleeper. Is it the comfiest thing I've ever slept on? No...but for the price, it's a great mattress. Every morning I wake up refreshed and ready to go. This mattress is super comfortable. It helps to relief my back pain almost immediately the night we used it. The top is skin friendly that my wife and sleep directly on it, it feels like sleeping on the cloud, soft enough to release entire body’s pressure, and firm enough to support me on a flat level. **Original review is bottom paragraph** UPDATE!! I came back and rated bed a complete 1 stars from the 2 stars I originally gave it. The mattress leaves both mine and my husband’s backs in bad pain all night. We don’t sleep well on it at all. So aside from the ugly lump that’s still there even after sleeping in it, the bed is also uncomfortable. Feels exactly like the mattress I got rid of. I would definitely not recommend bed to anyone looking for a more soft but firmer feel. Especially not one rolled up with large humps on it’… !!! Rolled right out with large ugly lumps in the center. My guess is that because it’s rolled up you get a lumpy bed. It also seems like the reason it’s as lumpy as it is, is because the quilts in that area are not stitched to the bed. I can literally lift up the whole area which means the lump is there forever. Not appealing to the eye under my comforter and makes my bed look raggedy. Has been almost a week and is still like this and has not been slept on yet. Seems like it would be comfortable but I can’t judge that exactly yet.. ... show more

We had bought an eight in memory foam and then a 2" top for it, total cost was more than double this one and it only lasted 3 years, the last year with memory foam pits that made you wake up sore. This also came with a ten year warranty and the build quality is superior to the expensive memory foam garbage. It swelled up to the full 10" in two days while we slept on the floor on the old mattress. I don't think this one will develop pits to ruin you. No more memory foam for us!!! ... show more
