Bought this to use as an extra guest bed when family visits. It both inflates and deflates in less than a minute and pump is relatively quiet. Left it inflated overnight according to the instructions and it was just as firm as when it was first inflated with no perceived air loss. After deflating it is easy to fold up and place in the bag where it can be stored in a closet out of the way until needed. Materials and workmanship appear to be of a durable quality making it a good value. Have not had anyone sleep on it overnight yet, but I am confident it will work well. ... show more

Since we downsized, we needed/wanted a king size air mattress for when our son and daughter-in-law come to visit—something we could put away when they leave and still have the spare room for our needs— home gym/office. They extended their stay and I don’t think they are leaving... they couldn’t believe this was an air mattress and said it was as comfortable as their own bed— my son spares no expense when purchasing furniture , so that is saying something!! I did get a nice combo mattress pad/topper and nice Egyptian cotton sheets, but the firmness of this bed is just right. We inflated the mattress 5 days before they arrived and the smell of ‘new air mattress’ dissipated within 2 days. We inflated it during that time per the instructions to accommodate the stretch in the air mattress material and it firms up perfectly with about 15 seconds of additional air pressure. They slept on it and it needed another 15 seconds of air pressure after about 2 days, and then again 2 days later. I don’t think- due to the newness of this mattress, that I would consider that too much maintenance. My son is a big guy—250 lbs of muscle and his wife is average size about 130 lbs— the bed makes absolutely zero noise getting on or off— Sounds like a normal bed. And there was no bouncing when either one rolled over. Bottom line— this bed is of exceptional quality, we are super pleased with our purchase! —-except, it may be just a little TOO comfortable!!!! **We did have a problem with the 1st bed sent to us...I wrote this review, but hadn't submitted it yet, about the 5th day of the our kids' arrival, the bed deflated in the middle of the night. We were mortified, but we did find the leak, it was a defect in the seam. As far as I'm concerned, these things happen. We took a few pictures, called the customer service # and they were SO KIND and HELPFUL!! They sent us a bed right away, the kids slept on sofas for a few nights. We had a new bed in less than a week. My daughter-in-law said she loved the smell--it reminded her of camping with air mattresses as a kid--LMAO. So it all worked out and I don't know what to say about the other bad reviews but, I can only speak to my experience. The kids decided to move back to the area and their new home would not be ready for another month. The new bed was awesome, ZERO PROBLEMS. A month after they left, we had another guest, my husband's brother, a 6'3" man of about 275 lbs. Bed was great, he said he wasn't leaving either!!! I bought this as a temporary replacement after being so frustrated with those online bed-in-a-box companies that I threw out two mattresses in two years. I needed something supportive for a plus-sized person that wouldn't aggravate my back pain, and I needed it to be low enough for my toddler to easily climb on and off. Pros: This is a great quality air mattress with a fast pump. The pump does require electricity, so don't plan to take it camping unless you've got a generator. For the first week as it settled in, I added air every 48 hours or so, but now that I've been using it for about a month, I top it up about once a week. I expected this from an air mattress, and that's why I got the electric pump--it's really easy to use, just twist the valve, let it run for 30 seconds, and voila, firm mattress. I'm heavy (~285) and this supports me with no problem. I don't feel like it will pop or that it hammocks in the middle. My daughter is a BIG FAN of jumping on the bed, and even with the constant abuse, it's still doing well. I put a rug gripper under the mattress to prevent it from sliding around on my wood floors. Cons: One thing I don't love about this mattress is the built in pillow. As a stomach sleeper, it forces you into a backward banana position that is just not ergonomic. I really wish they had a flat mattress option. Also, this thing is firm. Really firm. If you don't want it to sag in the middle, you really need to blow it up all the way, which means it's gonna be a bit like sleeping on (slightly forgiving) concrete. To get around this, I added a 3" latex mattress topper, which I had planned to do anyway, since I wanted this to feel like a real bed--it's temporary, but why not be comfy? It worked for a few weeks but I still felt it was pretty firm. I decided to add an additional 3" memory foam topper and a pillowtop mattress cover, and now my bed is a fluffy dream. Soft top and supportive mattress. I'm going to buy longer sheets, since my 18" deep pocket sheets are now barely clinging on even with industrial strength sheet suspenders. Verdict: One mattress, two toppers, one rug gripper, some sheet suspenders, a mattress cover and some new sheets later, it's fine. ... show more
