With a few little tweaks, this greenhouse is dynamite! 1. The frame was pretty easy to put together. Similar parts are bundled together, and each part has a label sticker on it. It was a little awkward assembling it by myself, but I managed to build the frame in about three hours after work. It is a easier to use a wrench instead of the small tool that is provided. 2. The frame does need a little reinforcement. Otherwise, you are relying on the cover too much to hold it in shape. 3. I drove steel pipes into the ground at each corner, just inside the corner, and wired the frame to them. If you put the stake outside the corner, it will interfere with the cover. This was the first major step that really held the frame squarely to the ground. This took one more evening after work. 4. The next step was to wire the diagonals. There are only two diagonal pipes on the frame, which is not quite sufficient. The wired diagonals are shown in the second picture. 5. I also wired the diagonals on one end. This limits the greenhouse to one entrance, but significantly strengthens the structure. All told, I used a 100 foot roll of galvanized wire that is rated for holding 75 pounds. The wire cost around 13 dollars. 6. After I stretched the cover over, I used a stronger cord instead of the thin cord that came with the kit. The roll was less than 10 dollars. Also I used cinder blocks that I had around. Also, I put it near an existing fence. 7. So for less than 25 dollars, plus some things that were laying around, this thing can be made super sturdy. After I take the cover off during the hot part of summer, I will also reinforce the top bar and add some vertical supports. With these additions, I am sure that the frame will last for at least 5 or 10 years. 8. For the price, this greenhouse is great. It definitely needs some tweaks, but the whole thing is so inexpensive that is worth it. My intent is to leave the cover on in spring and fall for a season extension. That way, the cover is not damaged by the worst of summer and winter. 9. Right away, I moved in a chair and some shelves and a little mini greenhouse that I had inside. Now I don't need to carry my seedlings in and out of the house each day! 10. The screen zippers are not as durable as the main zippers. Be gentle with them. 11. I am being critical of the weak points, but the poly-carbonate greenhouses that cost several times what this cost have weak points, which are harder to remedy. This thing is a great bargain, if you have just a little skill to make it sturdy. It has tons of space! I love it!

I have been pleasantly suprised by the quality of this greenhouse and how simple it was to put together. There is also a ton of good advice on YT. Like other customers, I constructed a base from 2x4s on a sheet of landscape cloth first and then mounted the greenhouse frame on that. I only used one of the 2 stability poles provided, but I zip-tied it to a 4 ft T-post I hammered into the ground. At each inside corner, I used heavy duty tent stakes (the rebar kind with the loop), driving them down to just above the base and zip-tied the greenhouse frame to each. For the tarp cover, I stretched it tight, wrapped the extra length around 4ft x 1/2" pieces of trim to not tear the tarp and nailed it to the 2x4 base. Start with the front to make sure the sides are not crooked. It got down into the 20s several nights and a small heater was able to keep it in the 50-60 range, warm enough to not damage my tomatoes (in the pics you'll note that I threaded some bubble wrap and plastic through the roof supports which helped to insulate. With a better heater, it would have stayed warmer. The velcro on the windows is nice, I don't use the ties, I just stick the bottom part of the window to the velcro near the top to keep it partially open. We are in the midwest and have had several big storms with tornados nearby and this greenhouse is rock solid. I'm thinking of buying a 2nd!

This greenhouse has been great for 2 years. The frame is still very solid. We anchored it very well when we installed it. The cover has had problems. One of the zippers stopped working after a few months, but I left that side closed, and things were still fine. Now, 2 years later, the Velcro no longer sticks on the windows and there is a rip in the fabric too large to patch. I reached out to the company, Interested in buying a replacement cover, but did not hear back. 2 years is a pretty good run for a product of this price that is outdoors in the elements, I just wish I could purchase a new cover without having to buy an entirely new frame as well.

Zippers and Velcro window closures need to be improved, and the edging flap, used to seal the bottom edge of the cover could be longer, for more material to "weigh" it down. Our zipper broke, middle of the winter... ( That zipper underwent 2-4 zips, every day, for 4 months...). I laid a level, 6" gravel bed, mounted the tube frame on top of a 2x4 pressure treated base frame, w/ corner stabilizers (the photo only shows the side rail 2X4s, but the entire tube frame was supported by a 2X4 base) . Then, I attached the tubular frame to the base using metal pipe/conduit (half circle screw-downs). I then drilled holes at each of the 4 ends of the wood frame that I extended, and anchored the entire greenhouse with 3' rebar rods. We intended to keep this greenhouse, and we're relying on it to supply us with food, especially my wife's Asian veggies and herbs, that are difficult to find. We installed it like it was important to us, so we went the extra mile... In the end, we were THRILLED with this greenhouse. Beautiful! Yes, the zipper failed. BUT, I used clear flex tape to realign, and seal the two edges, FROM BOTH SIDES, AND CLOSED IT UP! We started using the zipper on the other side, of the same door, and we had the entire other end of the greenhouse if we had needed it. I never called to complain, I just left a review without giving the kingBird people an opportunity to make it right... WOW, I WAS TAKEN A- BACK when I received an email from them, wanting to know what happened. After explaining the situation, they promptly offered to replace the cover. I couldn't believe it, but, the new cover has been delivered. This greenhouse is worth EVERY PENNY! If you do some extra things, like we did, it will provide you with a GREAT experience. Ours was in a field, and it withstood several wind, rain and snow storms. The wind reached 30-50mph!! Look, if you're expecting an angled aluminum framed, a rigid polycarbonate sheet paneling, and want to pay the $1500-$3000 , go for it... Otherwise, you cannot go wrong with this kingBird greenhouse. Also, the reason I purchased it was because I own the 41' kingbird MOTORHOME cover, and the quality, for the price, impressed me sooo much. Now, having experienced the TOP -NOTCH customer service??? I'm impressed, and that's not something easy to do, for me. Well done, Kingbird. Please, improve the zippers, and YOU'LL hit it outta the park! Customer FOR LIFE!

I wanted 2 things out of this hoop house. A quick shelter/storage for garage items while work was being done on the garage itself and a greenhouse when plants needed more room than my polycarbonate one could provide. I want to be able to keep this up maybe 10 weeks during Spring. Shipping was fast, box was a little roughed up, but no internal items damaged. I liked how they packed all the same pipes together. I put it together myself. I am a 55 yr old women that has put 4 outdoor storage or canopy items together, plus one advance polycarbonate greenhouse. I did use a drill instead of hand screwing the bolts and nuts. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN, METAL POLES WILL CRIMP. One senior person took about 1 1/2 hours for the frame and 15 minutes to secure the plastic. I could have hustled it a little faster on the frame if needed. Picture shows it together, I did use patio blocks all around the edge, I also staked down each section of bottom frame with landscaping stakes about 10" long, one in each direction so it cannot move out of alignment and lift. I did use the cord that was provided but went and put tent stakes to secure into ground and not the U anchors they sent. I did like the strength of the plastic and the zippers work great for me. The plastic is loose enough you should not have to "stretch" or put any type of force on the zippers. I have had hoop houses blow down the road on windy days before. I may have over anchored this, but I had the stakes so why not. We have had up to 35 mph steady wind, with gusts up to 50 for a few hours. It has not lifted any of the anchoring systems and the plastic has stayed sturdy. Depending on how long you leave it out each year, I think you would get long term use out of it as a TEMPORARY greenhouse. When I take it down, I think a good idea will be to mark the poles with a black marker the way they are connected now and number them. The black line will make sure I can line up any bent or crimped poles as this still does giggle in the wind, and I think that would be the smart thing to do. This is definitely better quality than the Chinese ones with the green poles. The plastic grade/thickness feels like ones used in the professional greenhouses. I got the white one. I think it was a fair price for the items supplied as I knew when ordering it, I was going to anchor it my way because I didn't want it blowing down the highway.

One day. One single day. This product didn’t last 24 hours without tearing at the seams where the velcro is connected. When I put the cover on, there was no wind. I built a wooden base to attach the metal frame to; anchored the cover with cinder blocks, 2x4s, and the included ropes; and had all of the doors and vents closed. The same afternoon, we got a little spring wind - maybe a 10 to 12 mph breeze. The cover pulled out from underneath the blocks and boards and billowed. Over the next several hours, the anchors were pulled out of the ground several times (I kept screwing them back in new spots as deeply as possible) while the cover billowed, rode up the frame, and whipped in the wind. By the next morning, there were already two rips on the seams near the velcro straps that secure the cover to the frame. All of the anchors had been pulled out of the ground by the wind overnight. At least the frame, so far, is holding up. I have several issues with this product. Why aren’t there more than four velcro straps? Why aren’t there straps or ties on the inside of the cover to secure it to the tube running lengthwise directly overhead? Why aren’t there straps or ties to secure the cover to the bottom rails instead of relying on weighted material outside the structure? If it can’t hold up to a light breeze without pulling loose, riding up, and tearing, how is it supposed to keep warm air in during colder months? Bottom line - the product looks good in marketing photos and is conceptually functional, but is poorly designed and fails under anything less than optimal conditions, thus rendering it practically useless. As of right now, I absolutely would not recommend this product. Depending on what sort of response I get from this company’s customer service department, I may return and change this review.

Bought this over a year ago. It works well and does a great job heating up but doesn't hold heat at night and is not frost proof. I set this up, used for 3 months, removed the plastic cover for the summer, then re-installed in Nov to get garlic in the ground. By Mar, one of the plastic door fasteners broke and a zipper separated. About 5-6 months in the elements and it's starting to fail. My friend bought two and kept up all year long and theirs has the same issues with the zippers. Don't expect it to last more than a few years.
