Obviously NOT an exact copy of Super Mario Hover Shell Strike. This has some sort of morph between a turtle shell and a character called Toad as the “football”, according to the instructions. These items are so lightweight that I thought the box was empty. The felt on the bottom of the paddles is crooked in mine. The shell/puck I received is dented in two places. Those dents are never coming out either. This was an impulse buy because I remembered the original was hard to get at Christmas and my granddaughter has a birthday coming up. I actually thought it “was” the original until I checked my order the next day. I was fooled by packaging, coloring and images that look like a certain video game. They also use the words “Super Bro game” in the description which is purposely misleading advertising. It appears after I received mine they were told they had to remove that. For those reasons I won’t give this a good rating even if it works and the kids have fun with it. I’m not a fan of purposely misleading consumers, particularly on toys. Many seniors, like myself, will be misled into ordering their for grandkids. How sad is that!

This tabletop air hockey game has been a lot of fun for the whole family. I bought it for my kids, and they were excited to start playing as soon as we opened the box. This delivers a surprisingly authentic air hockey experience for a tabletop toy. The hover puck produces good airflow and glides the way you would expect, making it feel genuinely similar to playing on a full size arcade table rather than a watered down kids version. My son is in the 5 to 7 age range and picked it up quickly without any trouble. The puck works best on hard smooth surfaces, so hardwood floors or a smooth table are going to give you the best results. On rougher or textured surfaces the airflow does not carry it as freely, so keep that in mind when picking a spot to play. Durability has not been a concern. The puck has taken a few tumbles off the table during play and kept working without any issues, which is exactly the kind of reassurance you need with a toy that is going to get some real use from younger kids. For a tabletop game that is easy to pick up, fun for kids in the lower end of the listed age range, and durable enough to survive some enthusiastic play, this is a solid pick. A good option for indoor play when you want something more active than a board game without needing a lot of space to set it up.

This is the cutest addition to my son’s toys. He is the biggest fan of both air hockey and super Mario bros right now. The turtle does take 3 triple A batteries that are not included. Once turned on, it glides across the floor with ease and is surprisingly quick too! I know that I’ll have to get this from under the couch more than once… but for the price, the quality of the toy is definitely worth the buy!

Might be kinda strange but I got this for my husband for his birthday. He’s a big kid at heart and loves little things like this, especially to play with our daughter. It’s very cute and a fun concept. Now just to find a table to play it on. Haha
