The first kids "phone" arrived but the camera didn't work. I did a return and got a second unit that worked. The camera works, but is extremely low quality. The camera is about on par, quality wise, with a flip phone camera from 2002. This little thing is cool for kids though, especially one who wanted a cell phone so badly. It can play mp3s, has a headphone jack, has built in games (not great games), and built-in story books that it will read aloud, such as the 3 little pigs, and other fairy tales. Okay - if you want your kid to have a phone-like experience without the actual phone, get this! My youngest daughter has three older siblings, two of whom have phones. And her two older brothers have off-brand Gameboys they are allowed to play on road trips. She has been jealous of those for a while. I thought this would tide her over since it has built-in games. We've had fake phone toys before. They usually feel cheap and lightweight. THIS TOY IS INCREDIBLE. It feels durable and hefty. And the quality of the screen output is amazing for such a small, affordable toy. My daughter is in third grade, 9 years old, and has some developmental delays. We've tried lots of toys to help her learn or read. Even though this toy was supposed to just be for fun, the game for reading is one of her favorites. She loves taking pictures, listening to music, and basically doing ALL the things on this phone. We even have to limit her time with it like with our older kids. It charges fast too. So the good first: it's amazing how much they are loading into quite affordable little toys to keep your kids from begging for your phone all the time, and let them learn and play with useful tools without data/voice connectivity (and cost). This is pretty easy to use - minimal buttons for control, so you can poke at it and eventually get it to do what you want. But that leads to my biggest complaint: the included instruction manual has NONE of the critical operating elements, like the power switch on the back (shown in second photo) that if you turn it on/up and then hit the top button on the side of the phone will turn the phone on. (And if you turn it off/down will keep the battery from draining inadvertently.) It also didn't mention that you can flip the little camera lens over to be a front or self-facing camera. Final suggestion is that a lanyard would be nice; the phone is SMALL and bound to get dropped/lost by little hands. A different one I bought for this kids sister came with one; I may try to rig something up. My rating is based on price -- the one I got for his sister was 30% less than this and has all the same features. But honestly, even for this price it's a cute little toy. ... show more

This little smartphone is surprising. It has many games and features much like a real phone. It's durable and has survived a few falls to the floor. It's easy on and off for little kids to understand and it's size is easily held in little hands. This keeps them (aged 3 and 5) occupied while I run errands or appointments. We take it with us everywhere in the car. It's quick to charge and holds a charge for hours. The only regret I have is that I only have one. They share just fine, but I've already been asked for another. This is perfect for the holidays and a great surprise stocking stuffer.
