We absolutely love the Melissa & Doug Poke-A-Dot Books and honestly can’t recommend them enough. I have multiple toddlers in my home and every single one who comes over is immediately drawn to these books — they all want to pop the dots and “read” along. It’s a heavy book with very thick board pages. The popping mechanism of the dots it’s really good and satisfying. Would recommend to own at least one of these either for fun or educational purposes.

It is an adorable and super fun way for kids to learn counting. The drawings are charming and engaging, and the poke-a-dot feature adds a tactile element that makes learning interactive and enjoyable. However, there are a few issues that prevent me from giving it a full five stars. Firstly, the book counts down from 10 to 1, which feels a bit odd. I think it would be more intuitive and effective for children to count from 1 to 10. Another concern is the durability. The book broke a bit after moderate use, which was disappointing. Additionally, the book is very thick and quite heavy for kids. Parents need to be cautious when their little ones try to lift it, as it can easily fall from their tiny hands and potentially cause injury.
