Protect children and older adults from hard edges of the hearth in your home. Our quality closed cell foam safety cushions are the only foam hearth cushion product that is still Made in the USA. Our high density foam is soft yet durable and impact absorbent. We use only non toxic materials that are naturally flame resistant. There are no added flame retardant chemicals. Our award winning three piece design eliminates piecing together lots of small pieces of foam. Attaches to hearth with double sided adhesive. From the Manufacturer Kidkusion Hearth Kushion Taupe is a one piece front fits most fireplace hearths. It covers 81" across front, 9.5" each side. This attaches with hook-n-loop adhesive strips and will not mar surface of hearth. It is flame retardant.

This product saved my son's life. We installed this last December (2010). Today was the first time it was tested. A solid hit to the upper back of his head right on the corner of the hearth. He ended up with a small cut / bruise. The guard stayed in place just as intended. No clear source for the cut, but may just be a split rather than a cut. It was one of those falls that turns you're stomach inside out. We are lucky/blessed he did not receive severe head trauma from the fall. < He got to excited carving pumpkins and fell from his chair. He's almost 4 and still using his Kaboost Portable Chair Booster, Chocolate seat lift. 'The Kaboost is great by the way.' LOL Probably the worst time ever to recommend a product. "Love it even though he fell off it and nearly ended up with severe head trauma" He now has a new location at the table. (no matter why he is at the table) The hearth is marble tile. (Professionally installed over brick)The foam is adhered with the supplied adhesive. Pro's 1. Nice and thick. 2. Sticks well to smooth surface. 3. easy to install. 4. Adhesive stays attached over time.(almost a year so far) 5. easy to clean. 6. It's not ugly Con's 1. No adhesive supplied for rough surfaces. *Might be able to use Blu-Tack Reusable Adhesive* Or silicone, but you would have to use Natural Sierra Pumice Stone to remove the Dap 00684 Dow Corning Clear Silicone Rubber Sealant 2.8-Ounce if you remove the guard. FYI: In researching head injuries I ran across Light Of Joy Awareness. If you have a little girl you need to google "Light Of Joy Awareness". ... show more

Wanted something to cushion the edge of my fireplace to childproof it a little better without spending a lot of money. This has been the perfect solution. The adhesive is good, it can be pulled off, however, you can push it right back down and it still holds nicely. It doesn’t feel like it’s going to slide around or fall off even after a toddler pulled a piece of it off and I put it back on. They are pretty thick compared to some other types of this I have seen. I knew these double-sided stickies would not work on our hearth but after reading a review of a mom who purchased a tube of Seal-and-Peel caulk to use, I was certain we had this figured out. The caulk was a blow-out. It's not meant to actually "stick" or "adhere" anything in place - hence the PEEL part of the name. It does not dry and cure like other caulks would do. After applying the caulk to the rubber strips of the hearth cushion we placed it, held it in place for several minutes, then placed weighted objects on top to hold it in place overnight to cure. The next morning when we removed the objects the corners of the rubber immediately began to curl up. I easily (and gently) tugged on it in various places to check if it adhered at all and it did not. Very disappointed. And to add: the tube of caulk specifically says that breathing the vapors from the caulk could be harmful or fatal and advises against it. I would not recommend using this in an area where small, low-to-the-ground crawling children will be playing where they will be close enough to breathe these vapors. I will be buying some actual adhesive to properly place this. ... show more
