Second Review: I received the replacement KidKraft Desk with Chair. It arrived in great condition. The new chair sits perfectly on the floor. My Granddaughter loves it and is perfect for her. One caution to new buyers is to manually and very gently attach the screw on the underside of the white table top. If forced in with a screw gun, it may penetrate the table top. I mention this because I’ve read in one of the reviews that this was an issue. Overall, however, I’m very pleased with this item. It is beautifully designed and functional. Original Review: I love this KidKraft Desk with Chair; however I did have issues which necessitated requesting a replacement, as follows: (1) 10 missing screws on screws labeled “S”. The instruction brochure stated there should be 20 screws. Only 10 screws were provided. (I would have rectified this myself if this were the only issue). (2) One chair leg a flaw with the painting where the lavender paint has rubbed off. (I also could have accepted this as a minor issue and lived with this imperfection.) (3) One chair leg is shorter than the other three legs which makes the chair very wobbly. (This is what prompted me to request a replacement.) I am excited about getting the replacement.     • Good value, sturdier than expected

This is a pretty little desk and perfect size for my 5 year old. It was surprisingly easy to assemble, took us about 2 hours but we took our time. The pieces were all labeled clearly, and the pack of screws/nuts/etc was clearly labeled and well organized. There were extra parts included in this pack but we did not need any extra parts. All of the desk parts were in good condition after shipping, no splits, cracks, or defects. The assembly instructions were good and everything was in the right order (I have put together similar types of furniture before and had the experience in the past where the instructions were not in the right order and we missed a key step which was not the case with this desk). It was surprisingly sturdy once constructed. The storage areas on the left are cabinets, not drawers, but the cabinet doors are nice quality and work better than I anticipated. The center drawer went together more easily than I expected. Overall I am really pleased with this desk for the price. The chair seems sturdy and we have had no issues yet with the chair (other reviews/pictures showed broken chairs). The hardware used to put on the chair legs seem wide enough and long enough to appropriately secure the legs to the chair. ... show more

    • Minor issues
This desk will function, all of its issues are minor but enough that the price shouldn't be so high. Like other purchases there are some minor cosmetic issues, scraped up leg of the chair, drill holes not perfect. One of the legs of the chair is not even so the chair wobbles, sand it down and you are good. Assembling is the hardest part even though this says no assembly acquired you assemble all of it and its a bit difficult. Once you get halfway through you notice that instead of 20 'S' 32 mm screws you got 10 and instead of 4 'R' 25 mm you got 10 and even though your list of items does not pass 'U' you have 4 'V' ??? screws. It took me about 20 minutes (and some deconstructing) to realize that the 10 'R' labeled screws were actually the rest of the 'S' screws and the random 'V' were actually the 4 'R' screws needed. After that everything went by smoothly and we will probably get a couple years out of this. ... show more

It’s been a I’m month we have got this item for my son remote learning. And it’s started getting apart. The legs of the table are starting to break. I wish I could disassemble the table and return. This table was hard to assemble b/c of the table quality. The wood of the table is very very poor. The only good thing about this table is , it has enough storage space for books and stationary item . This table is good for age 6+. So if you are looking for table which can run for long period, then Don’t purchase this product. This won’t last for even a year. I’m very disappointed with this table . And it’s also expensive for such a small table. ... show more

The desk was delivered yesterday. My hubby put it together rather quickly. Nothing came damaged. The only problem during putting it together was the chair, but we were able to fix it. I will still keep my eye on the chair. My 7 year old loves it! It’s a perfect size desk for her and i love that it’s not big and bulky. We were able to stick it into a corner and it fit perfectly. I am satisfied with the desks dm chair set overall. I would recommend it. Besides it’s hard to find desk anywhere since a lot of kids will be doing virtual learning. UPDATE!! 2nd day of school and the chair broke! Uhhm literally the second day of using this chair! 2 years later: The desk is still in good condition, we were able to fix the chair with some wood glue it held up for a while, it broke some time earlier this year and couldn’t be fixed again. Ignore this overpriced, poorly produced pile of garbage. Go to your local Walmart/Target and get something similar, but much better for half the price (or anything else on Amazon). Spent hours fighting this improperly constructed nightmare. It was missing so many construction parts I don't think the parts package was even the proper one for this unit. I've put together large dressers, multimedia stands, shelving and have never had an experience as frustrating as this. For example (just one of many through this process) one of the drawer sliders was attached to the wrong side (and upside down) to the second of the cabinet sides. Nothing about the drawer construction matched the instructions, it literally is a 4-part affair, this should've taken maybe a minute to construct but NO. After unscrewing the slider, carefully measuring and reattaching to the proper side and direction for the top drawer, I realized that the entire setup was inverted and would be impossible to attach to the base with any of the included hardware. None of the screws were the right size, the locking pieces didn't fit ANY of the pre-drilled slots, what an absolute mess. The directions were quite clear and easy to understand - this thing was just cursed from the second it was produced. As I've mentioned, I've built my home's furniture, even my home gym's pull-down/pully machines, smith machine, etc, and those came in numerous huge boxes with build instructions as thick as a phone book - this should've been a literal walk in the park comparatively. Definitely not worth going to the hardware store, buying proper sized screws and nails to jury rig this hunk of plyboard junk. I saw most reviews were positive and I thought it would be a nice surprise for my little one now that he's in school and could use a proper desk for homework, art, etc. I was very wrong. I purchased this at half price, which in itself was a rip-off - don't even consider this thing at full price. I could send parts back, fight through the process, but the fit and finish is pretty poor as is, so I'll chalk this up to an expensive learning experience. I guess the little chair it came with was sturdy and cute. There's your 1-star KidCraft. I'd give it 0 stars if that was possible. Proceed purchasing this with caution! ... show more

I made two of these, one for each child, and I have to say it was not entirely as easy as I would have expected. I’m a pro with IKEA furniture, but this was a little trickier in spots. At one point, I ended up using my own screws because I couldn’t get the flat-tipped screws they provided to go into the boards. The picture manual shows screws that were pointy, but that isn’t what they provided. Also, if you accidentally over-tighten the hardware securing the desktop to the base, it compromises the table top and pushes through, so be careful. Look, if you are used to building things and are OK with improvising a little, this will not be a big deal. If you want an easy build and have zero tolerance for annoying screws, this may not be the best set. It will test your patience. NOTE: I have a child with sensory issues, and she did not like the feel of the back of the chair on her legs. It would be wise to invest in a chair pad if your kids will be sitting at this desk for any length of time, or if they are picky about things like that. I agree; that feature doesn’t look cozy. ALSO— the latch on the inside of the cabinet is a bit sharp. I scraped (flesh shredded) myself on the plastic latch while putting something away in it once. Just a consideration for younger ones or clutzy adults, like me. STILL—I like this set. It’s okay, and it works. It looks nice. I am not sad I bought it, but the design and parts could definitely be improved. For KidKraft, though, this was a bit sub-par. ... show more

This was relatively easy and straightforward to put together. KidKraft does better with instructions/steps than most, but it's still about an hour and half of assembly here. The end product looks nice, is sturdy, and is something I'd recommend for 4-7year olds. Our 6y/o is in love, and has def spent more time doing homework or craft related tasks since she got her desk. She takes pride in keeping it clean and up to date. Our only issue was the chair was off balance. KidKraft has a straightforward and free part replacement program which was great. But now we have to wait for that piece, any day now. Overall we're happy with the price, quality, and look. For those reasons we're in! ... show more
