If you are sick of shelling out big bucks for junk, you can rest easy with this thing. It's simple to put together (took me about an hour, but that was with distractions - pay attention and you can have it done in half that time). It is very sturdy; in fact the chair bolts are so long and fit so tightly I'm pretty sure it would withstand the house falling on it. It's a very attractive design. I did not attach the bulletin board as we didn't really need it and I was afraid it would get battered (note that it can't be removed once stuck on). The price is not bad considering the quality and the fact that you get very nice matching chair. If you saw this in a furniture store for this price, you'd snap it up, and it doesn't have a cheap flat-pack feel to it. I can't speak for the other colors but the pink is classy and muted, neither bubble gum nor Barbie. It's a good fit for my small five year-old with plenty of room to grow. 1 person easy assembly that took me about 45min. Looks great, lots of storage. The predrilled holes in the chair didn't line up, but customer service quickly sent another one that was still hard to assemble but very sturdy when done, so worth the extra effort.

We're a big IKEA house because we always need to maximize storage, so building furniture is a thing I do A LOT!!! When I opened the first box of this desk (there are two separate boxes), the first thing I said was "this is really nice. Its sturdy and has a really nice finish to it. Assembly was pretty easy with your typical screws and fasteners used for DIY furniture. I always glue wood dowels when building these things just as a precaution and to keep things tight. I'd always recommend that. one downside, if any (and I'm only mentioning this so you feel at ease if you experience the same), is that the studs that screw into the boards and get fastened by those half turn circular lock things, they get threaded into plastic pieces rather than directly to the wood. definitely screw these in by hand and not an impact gun. They also sent mine with two extra of the plastic threads in case of them stripping in the wood. Sound confusing? don’t let this little detail deter you at all. its super good quality. ... show more

One of the legs had damage, probably from shipping. The back support at the bottom was broken. I had reattach it. See the white line in the second picture. I am hoping that the chair will last for some time. The table quality is good and assembling was easy.

My daughter loves her new desk. I was very much surprised at the level of quality, considering the price. It felt very sturdy and the finish is very smooth. Just the right height and size for our 6yo. Assembled very easily, although the 2 boxes arrived a day apart. We didn't know it was 2 boxes so the first attempt to assemble it was met with lots of confusion. The chair is strong enough even for adults of significant weight. No concern for breaking. Only 2 complaints. The 1st is that there is a lot of empty space below the desk where additional storage could've been created. Secondly, it has a very strong odor. It's been up for almost a week and I can very easily smell the chemical odor as soon as I enter the room. ... show more

I bought this for my 9yr old for Christmas. She's pretty tall, and I believe she will be able to use this for the next 3 years at least. There is a lot of storage space and it is very sturdy so I'm very confident that it will fit our needs. The color is more of a deep lavender. It took about 2 hours to assemble, but my other child helped too. There was no smell but I did air it out for 2 days before assembling and two days after based on the other reviews. It's beautiful and my daughter can't wait to use it! I plan on getting her a pillow for the chair. Worth the money! Update 1/4/23 Two years later, my daughter still sits at this desk and loves it.
