This is truly a really neat playset, but my first issue was finding one of the super cheap boards used to assemble it broken right in the package. This came as a present on the day of a birthday, so returning it would have really been a disappointment. Thankfully this was a board that was to be on the very bottom that was broken, so I figured that once assembled it would not even be visible. Assembly was a massive, over two-hour project, even for my partner who is pretty skilled at putting things together. I really didn't expect that assembly would be so painstaking, but observing the process, I could tell that it was actually pretty difficult. We also ran into an issue where the holes on some boards were not in the right spot, and we had to drill new holes to make it work. I would highly recommend having your own tools (including a drill) on hand, rather than trying to use what is included, if possible. Once pieced together, the overall unit itself is heavy and sturdy feeling. Upon receiving this as a gift, the kiddos proceeded to play with it for several hours straight! They loved the noises it made and that it lit up like a working range. They spent many happy hours pretending to cook and serve each other food, and it was a favorite of all of the birthday gifts. Please do note that there are no accessories included with this set, so any pots/pans, dishes, utensils, and play food must all be purchased separately. The next day, my son was playing with it immediately upon waking up (he liked it that much), and when he was moving the faucet around 'filling the sink', the faucet for the sink just snapped right off. The plastic this is made from is super cheap and flimsy and will not stand up to much. We tried to glue it, but it was too thin of plastic to do so successfully. The handles for the sink and various doors have held up so far, but they are definitely a concern as well. This unit would have been way too much of a hassle to attempt to disassemble and return, so we taped the faucet back on, which is horribly unsightly, but works. Overall, the kids absolutely adore this set, and it is a fun pretend play kitchen in many ways, encouraging imaginative play. It is sturdy as a general unit once assembled, but the flimsiness and fragility of certain features on the unit negates that incredibly. Even with as much as the kids love this set, I would definitely not pay the $100+ we paid for this to repurchase again unless the overall durability was improved greatly.

My husband and I gifted this play set for my son's Christmas present. We set it up together and if you use the digital instructions on the app the set up is not hard. It took us about 1 hr 30 min to get everything put together. All parts were in the box and the light up functions and sounds worked just fine. My toddler loves his kitchen set and it will last a very long time to pass down.

Our 19m old got this kitchen for Christmas and it’s been a big hit! We researched play kitchens for a few months and wanted one she wouldn’t outgrow quickly. This was one of the taller ones (fridge and counter height). This size will fit her for many years! It wasn’t terrible to put together, but it does take some time. We were going to have it on our carpet, but it feels more sturdy on the laminate. They do include a wall anchor as well. The doors are a little hard to close at first, as the snaps are in the bottom corners, but they seem to be moving a little more easily now. With that being said, we also have to teach our daughter not to push the doors back too far, because they would snap. Good thing she’s a good listener 🙂. Her accessories are mostly Melissa and Doug. The condiments and food fit nicely in the fridge and the cans can fit on the shelf. The “full em up cups” work well with the ice dispenser, however the ice cubes with this M&D set will NOT go through the dispenser. The M&D cookie tube fits standing up or laying down in the fridge, but you cannot pull the cookie tray in and out of the oven. You have to put it in at an angle. None of which is a deal breaker for us. The M&D pots and pans fit great on the stovetop and in the dishwasher for storage. Love that there are sounds and lights with this kitchen. The burners light up and they make a gas lighting sound and then a boiling sound. The microwave also lights up and makes a running sound and beeps when finished. I wish the oven would light up as well but that’s ok. I agree the sounds are loud, but it doesn’t bother our daughter at all. A final note of the microwave is you have to use really small plates in it. The plate we have is from the fisher price food truck and it’s 4.5” diameter. Anything bigger will not fit. We are very happy with our purchase and would recommend to anyone who has a child who loves to play kitchen.

The reason for it not getting 5 stars is because some parts are flimsy. I feel like I'm going to break it when I shut the doors during play with my daughter. A few months in, it's not too bad, still together.

Got this kitchen for my 2 yr old birthday and he loves it. I originally bought the Melissa and Doug kitchen but this one had better features with the stove and microwave and it was on sale. I also loved the gender neutral color of it. Instructions were pretty straight forward and the only tool I needed was a Phillips screwdriver it took a little over 2 hours by myself and while taking a few breaks. Nothing was missing from the box and all the parts were in good condition when received. I love the height of it, I think my son will get some years of use out of it. I personally do not have any issue with opening and closing the oven or refrigerator doors on the kitchen I received. As seen in one of the pictures I added an adhesive motion sensor light so it can kind of resemble a stove light. I would suggest using the hardware that’s included to secure it to the wall especially if you have a strong toddler because if pushed too hard it may move. Overall I love it and I’m glad I went with this kitchen.
