The bench wasn’t that hard to put together just have to make sure everything lines up especially the track lines or the back boards will not fit right. As i was puttinh it together and after was done and cleaning it up i noticed many places where corners were damaged or damaged spots. Luckily i was able to hide most of them but some still show. Not too happy bout the damages item had but it is together and the daycare kids are gonna enjoy their new book bench ... show more

Pros: -Fairly easy to assemble. One of the last steps should be completed earlier to make it easier to turn the screws, but other than that no big surprises. -Seems like it should be sturdy, only time will tell. Cons: -No feet. The bottom is completely flat. -Scratching/marring/wax(?) on a number of places. Mostly in the back so I suppose it’s not a big deal. The top right, one of the most prominently visible pieces, had wax or something all over it that I had to scrape off with my fingernail as well as a couple scratches. It’s for kids, it’s gonna get scratched, but I’d prefer if the scratches came from my own kids, not the ones who manufactured this thing. -Just about all of the edges look like junk too. The wax or whatever they put on the ends of each piece looks like crap. I am guessing that is the wax that I had to scrap off a bunch of pieces. Buying any kind of furniture product from Amazon again is going to be a tough choice to make. I buy stuff with every intent on using it when I get it. I have no desire to send something back. And I don’t even want to put effort into dragging the box to a ups drop off or anything. I expect new items to look just like that, new. Oh well, lesson learned I guess. ... show more

We’ve bought a KidKraft products in the past/been happy with them and this one did not disappoint! Easy to assemble by myself, all you need outside of what’s included in the box is a screwdriver. It feels sturdy and I especially like that the cushions are connected with Velcro to attach to the bookcase. We own a similar bookcase made by a competitor & their 3 separate cushions for the reading nook are always slipping all over the place if not falling off when my kiddos attempt to sit on them. My only complaint is that the 4 lower shelves are on the shorter side, but the 2 larger shelves on either side of the reading nook are tall enough to accommodate all of our larger hardcover books so it works for us! ... show more

Great idea, unfortunately our kids only like getting stories read to them, so they don't sit here themselves. That's an us problem, though, nothing wrong with the product. Just something for productive buyers to consider when purchasing.
