I was SO IMPRESSED when this set arrived!! I have three little girls, so I have bought MANY of these food sets. This is by far the BEST quality of one I have ever seen. I was worried the pieces would be small, but for the price it looked nice. When the box arrived I opened it - expecting the worst and instead was completely impressed. I have purchased sets like these before and they don't last long - they are thin plastic which ends up being pushed in (so you have flat oranges, flat bananas, etc) but this set is much thicker and very sturdy. I think it would be nearly impossible to push these flat, even if they are stepped on by an adult (which also happens...) That gets five stars from me already. I normally have to buy a new set every few months due to all of the pieces getting torn up, becoming flat, etc. This set is not going to do that. For the price to see it made of high quality material is fantastic. On top of that I figured, like with every play food set I have ever bought your going to get at least ten items that are flimsy cardboard, that will last a day tops - but is in every food set - this set has NO CARDBOARD pieces at all!! Can you believe it?! Even the box items that I thought in the picture were cardboard are nice hard sturdy plastic that has stickers of cereal, animal crackers, etc. The Milk cartons, etc are also made the same way - I could not believe it!!! I was also worried that the items would be small, which also happens a lot - they give you a bunch of items but they are tiny. Not these, the ketchup & mustard bottles are larger, just like in real life and each item has a nice size thats not too big for little hands but very realistic. The fries actually come out and can be placed into the fry container, all around just fantastic quality. I don't think I'm going to need to buy another food set again, seriously. Everything is so much more realistic then the cheap thin plastic sets as well, I am actually excited to go cook with them!! I can't recommend this set enough, for the price its amazing. If you are having the same issues I have had with food sets, give this a go - its a total win!!

OWNED 6 MONTHS : Product arrived on time. Item arrives in a bag in a box. For the price, you get a great variety of play food and a lot of pieces! The colors are vibrant as shown in the photo. The plastic material is heavier than most other play food I have seen (and purchased). I like purchasing from companies I am familiar with because I can know what quality to expect and this purchase was no exception. As most young kids do with play food, some of the pieces have gone in mouths and have been bitten down on. I have so far had to throw away 3-4 pieces due to the plastic seams breaking (bananas - which has been the first to break with every play food set I've seen) or the plastic itself breaking due to being stepped on (water bottle). However I expect wear and tear with children and so it does not bother me. Also, most play food you will find is hollow on the inside so it just won't hold up over time the same as other toys will. I am happy with this purchase and will repurchase again if our play food gets down a significant amount from broken pieces.

I ordered this box of various plastic food items for my son’s play kitchen. I was looking specifically for sturdy plastic food that would last rough play. This delivered to all my expectations! The food is well-made and highly detailed and very sturdy. We have already gotten a lot of play out of it, and I anticipate it will last for the entire entirety of the time he is interested in the play kitchen. I highly recommend this product.

I have been looking for an affordable and well made set of play food for my son, and I just kept coming back to this particular item every time. This product is well made and fun, each piece is easily identifiable as the intended food it is supposed to represent. There is a great variety of each food group, and ways to mix and match them. My son spent the better part of 2 hours the day we got the package in. He sat and identified almost every item, and was happy that he knew most, and learned the rest. They all fit well in his pots and pans set, and he had a blast making me meals with tangible objects this time instead of pretend items. I like the over all quality of the set, not overly elaborate and as such something I'll worry about getting damages, but not flimsy either. They are all light weight too, so if a toddler goes "food fight" tantrum on you, no one will get hurt by the projectile play food. I am pleased with my purchase, and will definitely keep it in mind as a gift.

I bought this because I wanted an inexpensive food set for my 2 year old son to use with a kitchen set I'd found at good will. I wasn't sure if he would be interested in pretend play and cooking, so I didn't want an expensive food set just to discover he could care less. This set was reasonably priced and offered a ton of food and I'm very happy I picked it. My son, it turns out, loves to pretend cook and eat. And the variety of food offered is helpful in teaching him new words. My only complaint is that the plastic hot dogs don't fit and stay in the plastic hot dog buns, but that hasn't seemed to bother my son. Also, many pieces of food have a small hole in the back from the molding process, which prevents me from just dumping them into a tub of water to clean and sanitize them, instead I have to wipe each piece when I feel like they need cleaned. But overall I think this was a great buy.
