  • Had to buy the big bag!
Size: 2.2 Pound (Pack of 1)
We like to put coffee on Subscribe and Save, and decided to give this one a try. This coffee is really smooth and the flavor is rich and almost creamy. Very pleased with it! We grind it and use in a French press.

  • Coffee Snob Approved - again!!
Size: 2.2 Pound (Pack of 1)
Kicking Horse is one of only three brands I drink these days. I freely admit my coffee snobbery with pride, drinking the standard swill brands 'merika has grown old on is beneath me. Quality coffee in a French press is mornings done RIGHT! Not to mention the rest of the day - obviously! There is something different in the way they, K.H., roast their beans, I have no idea what, but I can see - and taste - the difference of variations very distinctly. I'll drink generic green tea over maxwell or folgers (lower-case intentional), most people are not well informed about coffee - period. If they were, ... well, this country would only be drinking the best of the best. If folks were truly aware of the global scene as it relates to coffee, there would be outrage over the mega-plantations, the treatment of people working, as well as the ecological toll the "Big Name Brands" perpetuate as the standard business model. But all of that is for an essay. ... show more

  • Bag split open down the side on delivery - Updated
Size: 2.2 Pound (Pack of 1)
Updated - The next order came in. I tested the coffee via the chemex and pour over methods. It tastes pretty good with no bitterness. I would say it's fairly mild on caffeine if that matters to you. I would purchase again but for me it's not a primary, but great for a change. I'll put it on my list to buy a few times a year. ** Initial Review ** Waited 10 days for a bag split down the side with beans all over. Now on another 10 day wait. The shipping bag seemed intact but the quality of the coffee bean container is poor. I question the freshness with cheap packaging. This is my first attempt at this brand of coffee, but I've ordered quite a bit of coffee from other brands without any issues. I'll update once I receive the product. ... show more

  • It's ok
Size: 2.2 Pound (Pack of 1)
Not sure if my bag just wasn't fresh, but I love kicking horse. One of the best whole beans I've used in my machine. I was a tad disappointed in this bag, it doesn't seem as fresh as the others I've purchased, it is the smart A$$ flavor and maybe it's just this flavor that I'm not fond of or freshness. I probably won't buy this particular type but love the brand and will purchase kicking horse again. I really enjoy kicking horse three sisters and will purchase that one again next time when I finish this bag. The price is really reasonable considering the better brands at Walmart whole bean in my area at least is $10 for a small bag that last me a week. These 2.2 lbs last me a month or a tad longer. ... show more

  • great coffee company, but my bag was stale
Size: 2.2 Pound (Pack of 1)
i switched midway through last year from stone street to kicking horse coffee. 9/10 times the coffee is great. my recent purchase wasnt very fresh though. the beans are dried out, no oil, or shine & it seems like a mix of different beans all in one bag. the bean colors were all shades , tan or beige, light brown, to black. the taste brewed isnt bad, but its not good either. im going to chalk this up to a logistics/freshness issue, & hope i dont encounter it again. ... show more

  • I tried to leave them, but couldn't
Size: 2.2 Pound (Pack of 1)
About a year ago, I came to the US, I was used to drinking Turkish Coffee (I used to be able to get the bag hot right after roasting, the smell was something I never experienced ever again) with an uncle who liked Dunkin coffee. Upon my arrival I bought my Mr. Coffee coffee machine and bought myself some Dunkin, it wasn't the best, I wanted to try something new, something better. I went on the interwebs and found this coffee, I bought one, and oh my lord, it changed everything. Prime numbers turned yellow, symmetric and odd functions started having different colors... (you know the usual stuff) I tried the Kick Ass Roast, wasn't bad, but this is just the next level, tried Stumptown Coffee (I had to mix it with smartass for it to be drinkable) and I finally bought deathwish, I had a lot of it and idk, it's just not working for me or something.(I also had some other misadventures with coffee but not worth mentioning) I had to buy my Smartass again, and now, I am a happy man who knows the value of his Kicking Horse. ... show more
