  • Just OK at best
If you’re looking for a cheap alternative for Apple’s new Magic Keyboard with the trackpad, this isn’t it chief. It’s okay but there are some seriously annoying things about this keyboard. I’m a full time student and artist so my iPad Pro is my main computer, and I use it hours everyday. Pros: Makes your iPad Pro a step closer to being a “laptop”**** (more on that later) Keyboard backlight USB-C charging Superb Battery Quick setup Cons: Inaccurate and inconsistent trackpad Mushy keyboard HEAVY (To balance out the weight of the ipad) Basically unusable as in “tablet” mode Annoying and redundant fabric apple pencil holder The keyboard is what I would say as being just “fine” for short bursts of typing like a text message or email, but typing for long periods of time like for an essay for example is dreadful. Having your autocorrect set to aggressive is a must if you plan to do any sort of serious typing on this. Oh, and the RBG (more like RG wannaB) lights on the keyboard are fairly bright and have 4 settings, including a “breathing” mode. However there is no plain white backlight for the keyboard as they advertised, just 3 Rainbow effects and 1 solid Blue. The trackpad is not as precise as a Mac’s trackpad and nowhere near as good as a full on mouse. And this isn’t Apple’s fault. I’m writing this when iPadOS 14.2 is out, so the trackpad and mouse support has had a full generation and a half to mature. I’ve used a number of other mice and trackpads and I can say with confidence this one is the least enjoyable to use. It misses clicks here, double clicks there, and is really small. I suppose if all you do on you iPad is browse the web it wouldn’t be TOO bad but even then, its so inaccurate and inconsistent I found myself just tapping the screen because it was faster than trying to use the trackpad with any degree of accuracy. My last gripe is the apple pencil holder on the side. Did the engineers who made this even know what product they were making it for? ALL iPad Pro models hold the apple pencil magnetically on top to charge and store it (the case does not interfere with this thankfully). Why on earth would I put my apple pencil in a loose fitting fabric holder on the side where it can fall out and/ or drain battery when I could put it on the magnet on top where it goes? It’s silly and a waste of space. I clipped mine off with scissors very soon after opening this. You could also keep in mind that the base of this case is weighted to counter act the weight of the iPad so it can stand up like a normal laptop. This is no problem when you use the combo on a flat solid surface like a desk or table, but if you use it on your lap or bed, it immediately falls on it’s back unless its held. Just something to keep in mind. All in all if you really want to have a “laptop” case for your iPad Pro but don’t want to pay the “Apple tax” this little case isn’t a bad deal. For what’s it’s worth it really does take your iPad a step closer to being like a laptop. But if you have the money to spend, I would definitely go for the Apple Magic Keyboard case instead. ... show more

  • EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for!!
I had gotten increasingly tired of my old three-fold iPad case, and was looking for something with the sturdiness of a laptop AND the flexibility to allow me to lay it flat to draw. I spent hours looking through Amazon at other similar iPad cases, but the touchpad on this one is what finally intrigued me enough to push the button - and I was NOT disappointed. The hinge that holds the screen up is INCREDIBLY sturdy and keeps it at any angle you need it, as well as letting you fold it completely flush with the keyboard when you need to use it in “tablet” mode. The keyboard is super pretty and even has a breathe function for the LEDs that reminds me of much more expensive gaming keyboards. The touchpad is VERY responsive and even clicks for left and right just like a normal laptop would. I’m pretty sure you need to latest iOS functionality to use it, but updating is fast and easy if you haven’t already done it. Even the strap on the side to hold the Apple Pencil is a soft, sturdy faux-leather material and NOT the cheap elastic I was expecting. The bottom keyboard is nice and weighty, and even my chunky iPad doesn’t topple it - even when it’s tilted backwards. It also charges with a USB-C connector, the same one I use to charge my iPad for extra convenience. (And no, you don’t need to use the extra cable they send. I’ve tried it with multiple cords and they all work.) I cannot believe this is only $50, the value you’re getting for that price is INSANE. If you’re looking for an incredibly sturdy and well-made laptop case for your iPad, I WHOLEHEARTEDLY recommend this product. ... show more

  • Keyboard works really great.
This keyboard truly works great and I have no complaints. Truth be told, the original keyboard I received functioned for about a month and then the keys stop functioning. I contacted the seller, and they walked me through several troubleshooting steps…after no success, they sent me a new one. I’ve had this 2nd keyboard for about 4-5 months now and its still working perfectly. Kudos to the seller that worked with me. The keyboard itself holds an amazing charge. I usually plug it in to charge every couple of days because I’m afraid that the keyboard will lose charge, but I’ve never been caught without a charge yet. The keys all function very well and the backlight on the keys is especially helpful during the night. I really love that the case holds my ipad in place. I had the Apple keyboard originally and the ipad literally fell of the magnetic hold and ending up cracking…I don’t trust the magnetic holds anymore. This one works much better and there is no fear that it will fall off. I certainly recommend this keyboard to anyone searching out there. Thank you ... show more

  • 100% the best one I have found but... one flaw. Almost gave it 5 stars but couldn’t.
This would’ve gotten 10 stars but a simple design flaw brought it down to four stars. Flawless when it comes to the trackpad. The trackpad works like a regular mouse on a desktop. Smooth, easy to type on, excellent all around… Except… That if you open it up too far... push the screen back too far in laptop mode... it just falls over. There’s no weight balance. Just passed 90° is all you can get before it falls over. What a simple part of the design process that seriously fell short. This thing is perfect except for that one crucial part. You can tell nobody actually put the iPad in the case and tested it. Just the weight of the super light, brand new 2020 iPad Pro (the lightest iPad yet) will tip it over. I’m trying to figure out how to weigh it down without returning it because that’s how awesome it is. All in all, I’ve tried several keyboards and none of them compare. And the trackpad/mouse, it’s better than my MacBook trackpad. ... show more
