Great looking clock, I love the feature that turns off the cuckoo when it’s dark at night. It actually has an echoing cuckoo which is cute. We had a mechanical cuckoo which was a pain pulling up the weights once a day. This battery quartz clock is much more accurate than a mechanical clock as well. The media could not be loaded. This is a pretty good coocoo clock for the price. My husband wanted one, and I didn't want to spend a huge amount of money. The majority of the clock is wood. However, like many others said, the little bird and the chirping sounds makes it seem cheap. The bird is made of plastic and deflects from the overall beauty of the clock. I realize you get what you pay for, so that's why I give it five stars. I could stand to lose the "echo" chirping. I find it hard to keep track and count with that, and there's no way to turn it off. It is also hard to set the amount of chirps to the hour. You have to keep hitting that little button on the side until it gets to the amount of chips you need. Again, not difficult but hard to keep up when it echos too. All in all, it's still a good value and I have "no regerts" (some of you will get that, most won't). ... show more

The "Cuckoo" is recorded and when it sounds off it sounds a little like its underwater. That and it double cuckoos for each hour which is a little confusing. the first cuckoo is a little louder than the second but you get used to it. The clock itself is beautiful though and well worth the money
