This is a really cool addition to my desk setup. It looks great and adds a nice cyberpunk style to my workspace. The display is bright, clear, and makes my desk feel much more interesting. I’m in the process of redesigning my home office and ran across this device via a couple of YouTube videos. I’ll keep this short and straight to the point with my pros and cons below. Pros: - Build quality is excellent - Very cool design - Screens and ambient lights are nice and bright, but also can be adjusted - LOTS of different functionalities built in - Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity - Easy setup and customization - Premium packaging - Excellent value for the money Cons: - App could use a little improvement Just to elaborate on the con a bit more for those curious. The app isn’t bad by any means which is why I still give it 5 stars. It does what it needs to do and is easy to use and figure out. I have run into a couple of small issues that are not a big deal like finding a very specific clock customization that refused to let me change a picture on one of the displays. This was only one of the large number of clock setups that had this issue. I also found myself wishing their pixel art search was a bit better. They have various ways to search user art but their ability to filter the search is basic which can make looking for very specific things more difficult but not impossible. Don't let this deter you though as the Times Gate is still an awesome device!

I'm in love with this thing. It has LED lights that you can configure for the visualization pattern. They are super vibrant in color. I haven't used the sound feature yet, except to hear a beep upon manual reset. It's easy to hear without being annoyingly loud. 5 different mini screens that you can set to a uniform theme, or set each screen to something you'd rather see manually. There's a whole community of creators that you can access via the app that let you alter the appearance and function of the screens. You will need a Wi-Fi Connection. Initial setup can be a little wonky since the initial device firmware only recognizes letters and numbers for the Wi-Fi Network name, so you might have to temporarily change your Network name, but once the TimesGate is connected and the Firmware updates, you can change that Network name back and simply re-pair the TimesGate. I'm going to spend hours browsing through the community for user created content. it's really, really cool!

I love this thing. However, programming it to be what you want it to be is a test of patience. If this had an application similar to Elgato's Stream Deck, it would be 5 star. However, when you're customizing a clock face you are given dozens of "options" which are basically screen elements you can toggle on and off then define. The real struggle is that there is no preview for any of the changes and it will generally only apply one change at a time. So when you customize the font (which is actually the type face, the font size, the spacing, all in one package and can't be fine tuned) you need to save and apply, then let the face refresh, before you can even see the changes made. Then you decide it's too small, or too large, and have to start from square one. This is for every face, and every element, and every setting. That being said, there are some presets on there that are pretty cool, but I feel that takes away from the reason someone would purchase this. The customization is key. I also didn't like that the license sticker was placed on one of the viewed sides rather than the back. I had to spend time removing and washing off residue from the sticker. There is no battery, which isn't very clear and took me some investigation to realize this. It must be powered by a USB-C cable which is on the center/back of the device, which can make it difficult to place in nooks/crannies. The feet don't sit perfectly flush and aren't made as well as I thought they would be. They are plastic/rubbery and I was expecting some weight/metal, based on photos. The lighting effects were difficult to find, but were set easily enough except that the lighting modes don't necessarily reflect the mode being displayed. For example, there is a pendulum mode for the backlights that I wanted to use, but when I select pendulum it does some rainbow random cycling instead; I had to choose a different mode (I can't recall which) that is not the pendulum, in order for the device to use the pendulum mode. I figured it out, but there's no way that was design intent. There are other features that I don't fully understand and aren't explained, such as it has speakers for an alarm or music, but I haven't figured out how to make those work and don't know if they even do. I tried the music application but never heard anything playing. The alarm went off, but it only changed my clock faces and didn't make noise either. All that being said, I have it tuned to what I want (until I feel like changing it) and it looks good on my desk. It has character, and shows me the weather, time, ambient sound level of my work area, temperature and humidity... and looks cool doing it.

I got it in a package as usual, but when I opened the box it was in a plastic bag and not wrapped as seen in the vids. It had the cute bag, but it was slightly stained and a hair sample attached to the dyed stain and...a loose audio cable that I guess someone was saying sorry, but it had nothing to do with the device itself. The box with the device was in for the most part okay with peeled tape at the latch. Lysol wipe handled. I did open it and could make out that the device was fine. This device was probably returned like a second thought regret purchase. The usb cable was not in the box it should come with. Just placed under the casing mold. The Times Gate was fine itself.. No scratches or signs of mishandling. The plastic film was also already removed. Instruction manual was unopened and where it should be. It was tested and works! This is the first product from Amazon I have received in this way. and will speak with someone, but it sits fine. May just keep it because the device is what I cared about. Updated: I returned the item as it was malfunctioning, but Amazon quickly replaced it next day and it came the way it was expected with the carry bag, wrapped in plastic and etc. It's been working great and I love so changedcthe rating for excellent service and great device. They even checked on the delivery and device to make sure I got it and was working . Had it for a week and no problems!!

Was always intrigued by this product. It looks so cool. So I bought one for my wife and she loved it. It did suddenly stop working but support was friendly, helpful and replaced it at no cost. So happy with the product and customer service that we bought another one for me. It is easy to configure with the app and there are so many screens to explore. This thing is so cool.

Hardware - 4/5 Software - 1/5 Read for more because youtube videos don't give you the full story. Hardware - think of this as 5 apple watch screens, lower resolution, all plastic, encased in a cyberpunk like casing with lights. The lower resolution is not such a big deal - its good enough, although higher resolution would of course be nicer. The cyberpunk, lights - I couldn't care less, but that's a personal choice, I wish it was just minimalist screens, but thats just me. The casing is all plastic - I wish it was metal. And they could maybe lower the costs by not including the box. Either way, as a concept, this product is fantastic, so 4/5. Software - this is where this device truly fails. I won't be returning it, since its enough utility for me, but read on. The "widgets" for each individual screen are quite limiting. Either you have presets for all 5, or you can pick one by one. When you pick one by one, the choices are quite few and are very buggy. Also its not like you can code up your own and extend this. I have it showing weather forecast, weather, clock, stocks, and stocks (with different config) - so it meets my needs. HOWEVER, every widget also shows time/date/weather - how many times do I need to know the time? The widget colors are not very configurable. Looks like others have requested such configuration, but no updates. There are some individual widgets from the 5 preset screens I'd like to use as individual faces, but I can't. The only custom widget I can develop is pixel art, which is basically a low resolution gif - not very useful. And the siri integrations just don't work. Lets take the example of a clock. All I want is a simple digital clock that is easy to read. The closest widget to this is the "custom clock" - which is incredibly hard to configure. Every other widget either is hard to read, shows TMI (like weather?). Suggestions for improvement: 1. Allow me to pick individual widgets from 5 faces, and use them as I wish. 2. Add features to app so I can re-order the faces. 3. Make siri integrations work 4. Really really improve individual widgets - need many more, and need them to be much less buggy. 5. On the hardware side, I wish this was a minimal 5 screens put together, but I realize this is personal choice. Update: after 3 months of use, the unit died, connection issues, unless I reset the thing completely, who has time to do that? Also the software hasn't really improved, so i can't recommend this product anymore.

I absolutely love my Divoom! I originally got it because I wanted something cute for my desk, but it ended up being one of my favorite parts of my setup. The pixel art is so fun and there are so many different designs to choose from. It adds a lot of personality without taking up much space. It was easy to set up and has been working perfectly so far. Definitely recommend if you like customizing your setup! 🩷✨
