I bought this cooler to transport home-grown beef over a two-day 1200 mile trip. The beef and the ice were in the cooler for approximately 31 hours in August heat and the ice I placed on top of the contents looked almost as fresh as when I put it in. Not one package of beef was lost. This cooler performed as well as if not better than the YETI I had borrowed for this trip. In addition, this cooler is made in the United States and sells for a $100 less than a YETI 65 quart cooler. I'm looking forward to purchasing this cooler in the 45 quart version.

I LOVE this cooler. First off, the lime color makes sure that my cooler is never misplaced and everyone knows which cooler is mine. Second, this cooler is made by Grizzly Coolers in their Iowa factory to their quality standards. Third, the price of this cooler is equivalent to Chinese made roto-molded coolers, but you support far more American jobs this way. All Grizzly coolers accessories made for the 60 fit this like the Ice Divider, which I also have. I highly recommend this cooler and will be buying more (in lime green of course).

Bought it for a trip to the Gulf with family friends. We needed to pack in all our food so we needed something pretty large to get everything down there and keep it cool for the 8 hour trip in the blazing Southern Summer heat in the back of the truck. Loaded it up with some ice packs the night before to cool it, which i think is key. Packed it to the gills with food and a bag and a half of ice. Got to the beach house and everything was ice cold. Unpacked it and loaded it up with ice and left it on the back deck (which got just baked by the sun all day with 98 degree sun). Used at as our ice station for drinks all week. When it was time to leave there was still ice in it. there was plenty of water as well, but enough ice to fill a couple yeti tumblers for the drive home. We had some food in the freezer that we needed to pack back and bought some fish from the local fish monger on they way out along with some crawfish boudin (also legit) two big bags of ice and 9 hours later we're home and the frozen foods were frozen solid. Long story short it is a great cooler for about $100 less than other roto-molded coolers of the same size. My buddy had the same size cooler that was left inside and I would say the Kenai out performed it, which I pointed out to him numerous times over the course of the week. Now I don't hunt bears in the Yukon or go on week long fishing excursions, so we had no issues with the latches which seems to be the biggest gripe. They were snug enough to keep it shut tight but easy enough for my three year old to open up. No complaints.

I bought this cooler to haul groceries and beer back and forth to our boat which is located 3 hours away - not harvesting elk meat in the Yukon backcountry. So far, it has done exactly what it needs to do as a medium duty cooler. Ice retention is great, even getting roasted in the back of a truck topper. We have several YETI coolers and the Kenai seems to be as good or better at keeping its contents cold. The only improvement would be a sturdier latch system. It's almost too easy to open and close but certainly not a deal breaker. Kenai still deserves 5 stars for carving out a section of the crowded cooler market to fill this void at a reasonable cost. Kenai is made by Grizzly in the United States of America - that alone is enough to make me forget about the competitors who manufacture their product in China or the Philippines.

Have in last five years owned a Yeti 65 and a Walmart special and to start the yeti after five year wouldn't keep ice in 80 deg. weather. The Walmart special the same. I seen the reviews and purchased and right off the bat after two days in 80 deg. weather and sun it keep ice and drinks cold. Am very happy with the purchase.

The latches are just awful. The recess they go into is nowhere deep enough, and the latches come undone at the lightest tough. This seems almost intentional, as the recess could easily be made deeper if Kenai bothered to make a minor change to the mold.

I bought this cooler after doing a lot of research and I am so glad I did!! I needed it for a weekend camping trip where ice would not be available. It was quite primitive where I went. The ice held for several days!! I was so pleased with how well it kept my ice that I can’t say enough. Couple of pointers, 1) make sure you cool the cooler before adding your food, drinks, etc. 2) keep the cooler in the shade (if possible) 3) make sure to latch the top so it has a good grip.. This was the best purchase and plus it’s cheaper than a Yeti and it’s made in the USA!!!

This thing is so boss. Got it for the back of my Jeep...honestly never heard of the brand but won’t buy yeti and wanted red. It’s perfect! Have already had someone ask where I got it. I just got it last night so can’t speak to how long it holds ice, but I don’t think that will be an issue.
