There is some misconception about the wiring of this switch. You can wire the switch several ways but I prefer the option to have the switch illuminated only when the winch is functioning in/out. The ground pin is the top most left pin and must be wired for switch illumination. You have 2 12V+ inputs in the middle of the 6 spade connection bank. I used the right middle connection to my key 12V power in. The upper and lower connections on the right side are for winch in/out. I jumped this connection to the opposite side for switch illumination when each pole is activated. No need for diodes or extra connections. Everything is included in the kit! ... show more

Switch works but did not light up unless pressed, installation was easy with multiple configurations. Looks like factory in my Utv.

    • Good switch happy with it
The only thing it’s bad about this, which is the wiring instructions. It ended up working out great but I had to run power to two connectors on one side to get the lights to stay on when the power was on, but it worked out great and then I like it.

Since I couldn’t find a proper wiring diagram, I made one for you. With this you have options for the button illumination if you so desire. Say you wanted the big winch icon illuminated when your lights are on. Easy! Apply 12v+ power to pin 3 and leave pin 2 empty. Say you want to have the small bar illuminated anytime you run the winch. You’ll need 2x 1 amp diodes and then run the outputs from pin 4 and pin 6 each with a diode to pin 8. Don’t forget to run your 12v+ to pin 5 for the winch. The wiring diagram they show on here if wired like they show only time the switch illuminates is when you press the button. Power has to be hooked to 2 unused spots on the switch to make it stay illuminated all the time.
