I will say that *this* exact model does tend to get a little stinky, more than some Keen styles I've worn. Despite all wool socks, if I'm sweating & really working hard in these, after a few days they need some deodorizer. (For reference: I don't have particularly stinky feet -- it's quite rare for me to deodorize my shoes EVER) That's my only minor complaint (more like a warning). Almost zero break-in time. Runs true to size (I ordered half a size up based on Amazon's recommendation: they're ok, since I can wear them with thick socks, but I did NOT need half a size up). Super high quality. I usually wear a size 8 running shoe. Based on reviews I ordered the 8 Wide size and these were perfect. They broke in with one wear and I took them on a hiking (light hiking - 3 miles at a time) trip to Utah. I wear them with tall Smartwool socks and they are perfect even in very cold weather (20-30 degrees). No issues with rubbing or hot spots on my feet. Definitely recommend these. ... show more

I purchased these Keen hiking boots because I have a pair of hiking shoes made by them and they are still in excellent condition. These boots were comfortable from the moment I tried them on and continue to be. I purchased the vintage indigo/peace in a half size larger than I normally take because I like to wear very thick socks with them. They are exactly as pictured. The media could not be loaded. Fits my foot as expected but the part above my ankle is so rough, it made my ankle turn red and puff up. It may have been caused by the tags in that spot or the threads attaching the thread, I don’t know why for sure. I didn’t lace the uppermost option and left it a bit loose on my ankle and it still did that. The footpad is comfortable from day one. There is room for my toes. No pain anywhere but my ankle, otherwise I’d have given 5 Stars. I have not hiked with them on yet. I used to wear a 7, but have had to wear an 8 in the last 5 years, I bought the size 8 and they are perfect. i planned to buy a thicker insole but I don’t think there is room for one. ... show more

I needed a hiking shoe that supported my ankles AND didn't scrunch my wide foot (toe box). These don't. Yay! True to size, however I got a half size larger because I might need thick socks someday. Even half size larger, they lace tight, didnt need to break them in, and the only complaint is the heel is bit too wide for my foot. That said, there are heel caps I can get. Support for over pronation (flat feet) isn't champion so I did replace the insoles. If they weren't for hiking or long walks I'd not have bothered changing insoles. I like them. 4 stars because the support just isn't there as it should be for a hiking shoe. ... show more
