  • Comfortable boot with nice detailing, but the jury is still out on quality..
Color: Weiss/Boysenberry Size: 9
Right out of the box these boots were extremely comfortable. I was quite pleased and am looking forward to hiking in them. Per comments in other reviews, I hope that they last and are durable. I did read through many of the reviews before purchasing these and was surprised that no one commented on the reflective strip in the back the sides and the top, which was one of the things that caught my attention first, but maybe that’s because I’m often out after dusk. I like how the back reflective ribbon strip can also be used as a hook to help you put on your boot. However, I can see why another reviewer thought that the tongue of the boot could be a little thicker and wider but I think I’m gonna have to log a few miles or several miles before I can adequately review that function. I did not need to put in my own arch support so far, though the insole that these boots come with are quite flimsy, so at some point that might be a good idea. I think it must be the design of the boot itself that is so comfortable and is unrelated to the “arch support” insert . But it is removable so it’s not a dealbreaker. Several people did mention the fabric part between the leather upper and the rubber bottom tore easily, and I could kind of see how that could happen, as well as comments about having issues with the adhesive between the boot upper and the bottom rubber traction part, coming unglued. Since I have not worn them outside yet, I don’t know how durable of a pair I received, but at the moment, because they are so comfortable for me, which is rare, I am going to try them out and keep them. After doing a thorough exam it appears, and I could be wrong, that rather than an issue of the quality of the workmanship involved with the shoes falling apart quickly, it could be more of an issue of the glue that they use and the type of adhesive. Bad batch? different manufacturer? You know, like vitamin companies... Quality of different manufacturers is quite discernible if you are sensitive to it. ... show more

  • Comfortable
Color: Dark Olive/Atlantic Blue Size: 7.5
I have flat feet so i typically change the insoles to all my shoes; however, for some reason I kept them on for these and went to some hiking trails in Utah. I wore them all day and they’re super comfortable !!!

  • Great overall
Color: Magnet/Atlantic Blue Size: 7.5
Very comfortable shoes. They are definitely waterproof I used them in the snow and no issues with them. They did felt cold inside near the tip of the shoe at times, I was using thermal socks, it is my first time with this kind of shoe so I don’t know if I did something wrong. But great overall.

  • Keen boots: good fit for activities
Color: Magnet/Atlantic Blue Size: 9
I’m getting ready for a bigger hike than I am used to taking in Colorado. I’ve been wearing these Keens as often as I can and I love them. They’re waterproof and that has come in handy during flash floods up here.

  • Expensive boots w/ terrible grip
Color: Java/Porcelain Size: 9
I was recommended these hiking boots by my parents because I was heading to Costa Rica. I bought them back in April 24’. I used them multiple times for good lengths of time over several different terrains to break them in. I even wore them to Disneyland to walk ten miles in. Every time I wore them my feet felt like they would fall apart. So uncomfortable that I ended up purchasing inserts to put in them. Fast forward to June during my trip. I wore them on the hikes through the rain forest and let me tell you I did not feel confident in them keeping me stable one bit. I was constantly focused on where to step in fear of losing the grip. They were great to protect my feet and ankles from critters but that was it. Two days ago I was walking around the main city and had my hiking sandals on, walked 4 miles and felt great but it was starting to rain and the streets can get a little slick. I decided before heading out on a walking food tour to switch to the boots to help keep me from slipping. They did the OPPOSITE! I can’t count how many times I felt the shoe slip as I walked. Ultimately I ended up slipping and unable to save myself. I fell hard on my knee resulting in a giant slice and scrape. I couldn’t go back and change because the tour had started. So I’m walking through the city with bloody knee and walking for another 4 miles before finally making it back to the hotel and my feet were literally screaming. The tops of my feet were so strained, the bottoms hurt and I got a large blister on one of my toes (which I hadn’t gotten one yet). I would’ve felt safer in the hiking sandals and more confident in not slipping/falling. I one hundred percent wouldn’t purchase these again nor recommend them. ... show more

  • So disappointed in the warmth : (
Color: Magnet/Atlantic Blue Size: 6.5
I found this boot by searching Best WARM winter hiking boots. I have yet to find a wool /wool blend sock, or sock & sock liner combination that keeps my toes warm in my daily hour walk in the 30°s. I bought 1/2 size larger, and a big PRO, roomy toe box, so that's not the problem. They just don't feel thick enough to be insulating. No break in needed, but they just don't feel comfortable, or cradling to the foot. Also, the Keen site touts the flexibility of the sole and it is so thin...one reason I think they aren't warm. Also the thinness of the sole leaves me with tired feet. The cleat spaces on the sole are small and pick up gravel that has to be picked out after each daily walk. They are barely mid-high compared to every other mid-high I've owned. They are mid-ankle. The tongue is barely wide enough and I have serious doubts as to their waterproof quality because of that. Nice looking and seem well-made. I probably wouldn't have kept them except they were used too much before I knew they are not warm. ... show more
